JAMES A. GILES
SKILLS & ABILITIES With over twenty-five years of experience in business to consumer sales
with seventeen years in direct route building, I am a veteran in the baking
and salty-snack industry. Being a business owner as an Independent
Operator, I have developed skills in customer service, sales and marketing.
I have been successful by understanding my customer needs, developing
goal plans and maximizing sales. Self-motivation and taking ownership of
success and failures is a by-product of being independent and is something
I learned well. I took these skills with me as I became an employee for a
large corporation. With this move I added leadership and team
collaboration to my skills. With the vast experience I have on the front
lines, I have development the understanding that the market is ever
changing and I have the ability to keep learning and developing my skills to
succeed in this market or any other market.

COMMUNICATION In 2004 I led a 10-week course through my church on managing money. I
had around 30 participants and it involvednot only leading but also
involvingthe class in-group discussion. It was very helpful in giving me
experience in public communication.
2005-2007 I was a volunteer for an organization that helped teenagers in a
local youth detentions by teaching life lessons. This involvedgetting a
group of 2 to 10 together and leading a 45 min lesson and encouraging
class discussion. This was certainly helpful in overcoming a difficult
audience.
