Production diary and what shots I used.
October 16th
2018 –I went to Dan Parkes’ houseand we filmed the firstscene
for my movie, it was the scene in whereDan’s character (Pasquale) is called to
a meeting by his boss (Angelo), it took us a few attempts for each scene as it
was justus two so we had to technically be our own cameramen as there was
nobody else, it would’vebeen easier if there was a third but we managed to
get the scene done.
On this date we intended to get our firstscene recorded, wewere successfulin
getting the scene we needed to a standard wewere happy with. We used a
camera and a tripod. We filmed establishing shot (introducing my character),
tracking shot and a two shot.
However, wefilmed this beforewe got given the film task so that is why
there’s a big gap in when the clips wererecorded, originally I recorded this just
for practice but I liked the clip that much I used it for my film.
January 15th
2019 –this is where I got the bulk of my film recorded, I recorded
every single clip at the college but in different areas, also using a camera and a
tripod (however I used differentcameras and tripods for each shooting
session)
For the scene in whereI get a phone call from another gangster, I did a
‘sequence’ shot, where it cuts from my character on the phone, to the other,
we went back and forth.
For the scene in whereI meet with the rivalmafia boss, I decided to use a
medium long shot to make sureall the other mobsters werein the scene
showing how outnumbered in terms of power my character was. Weused a
camera and tripod, to stabilize the camera.
In the scene where I rang Dan Parkes’ character, I used a bustshot, as me and
his character were having a conversation but I decided against doing another
sequence shotlike I did before.
In the scene where Dan discovers my betrayal, I use a medium long shotas not
cutting off at the knees is important, becauseDan’s character stands up after
news of my betrayal hits.
Finally, I usea two shot(well three shotin this case) for the scene in wherea
henchman of mine grabs Dan so he can’tescape, and then I say my final words
to him.
All these scenes took a few attempts to film as something happened in each
clip, forgotten lines, bursting out laughing randomly, going too quick ecetera.

However, wefilmed this beforewe got given the film task so that is why there’s a big gap in when the clips wererecorded, originally I recorded this just for practice but I liked the clip that much I used it for my film. January 15th 2019 –this is where I got the bulk of my film recorded, I recorded every single clip at the college but in different areas, also using a camera and a tripod (however I used differentcameras and tripods for each shooting session) For the scene in whereI get a phone call from another gangster, I did a ‘sequence’ shot, where it cuts from my character on the phone, to the other, we went back and forth. For the scene in whereI meet with the rivalmafia boss, I decided to use a medium long shot to make sureall the other mobsters werein the scene showing how outnumbered in terms of power my character was. Weused a camera and tripod, to stabilize the camera. In the scene where I rang Dan Parkes’ character, I used a bustshot, as me and his character were having a conversation but I decided against doing another sequence shotlike I did before. In the scene where Dan discovers my betrayal, I use a medium long shotas not cutting off at the knees is important, becauseDan’s character stands up after news of my betrayal hits.
  • 2. Finally, I usea two shot(well three shotin this case) for the scene in wherea henchman of mine grabs Dan so he can’tescape, and then I say my final words to him. All these scenes took a few attempts to film as something happened in each clip, forgotten lines, bursting out laughing randomly, going too quick ecetera.
