Contingency plans are needed in case of issues with locations, props, characters, lighting or costumes. Backup locations are needed if the primary locations become unavailable. Replacements for expensive props must be on hand in case of breakage. The filming schedule accounts for actor availability so scenes without a character can be shot if an actor is ill. All filming must finish before dusk since outdoor locations rely on natural lighting. Replacements for costumes are required in the event anything rips during filming.

1. Contingency Plan
I will need to have a contingency plan in case anything goes wrong or if anything is
unavailable in regards to the location, props, characters, Lighting and Costume.
Location
I have chosen to set my short thriller film in three different locations which are;
Bourne estate common, Manor Avenue pavement and in my back garden.
Fortunately I will be able to film in all of these locations; however I will have to ensure
that I don’t get anybody who is not my actors in the film as they have not signed a
release form and I would not be able to use the footage.
Props
The props I have used in my piece are all from my home which I didn’t need to
purchase, however if any of the props broke they wouldn’t of been easily replaced as
they were expensive. Therefore I would have to make sure I had similar looking
props just in case anything does break.
Characters
Within my short thriller film I have two different characters; I have based all my
filming around their availability. If an actor is ill on one of the days of filming I will
have to film the sections of my film that doesn’t include that character.
Lighting
Because all of my locations are outside I will be relying on natural lighting, this would
mean that I would need to finish all filming before 5pm as it starts to become dark at
6pm.
Costume
The costumes that will be used belong to either me or the actors of the film. If any of
the costume does rip then it may be difficult to get hold of the same item of clothing.
