2. This is a form of receiving feedback by your peers individually
commenting on what is being presented to them.
During the hot-desking process my front cover page was displayed
to a number of my colleges. The feedback gained through this was
based on 6 questions I produced in order to obtain opinions on the
issues that may have arisen through the construct of my magazine.
The questions were:
1. Is the page design appropriate for my task? Why? Or why not?
2. Do the images/illustrations and text work together to create meaning? Why
or why not?
3. Which colour scheme is best suited for my magazine and why?
4. What front cover is your favourite and why?
5. On your favourite what do you think I should improve and why?
6. Are you able to identify my music genre?
In result of this feedback, I was able to identify my strengths,
weaknesses and the areas I needed to improve on.
3. STRENGTHS
From popular opinion, the red colour schemed
version was the most favoured because it was
easier to read compared to the blue colour scheme
version and the red, white and black better suited
the genre of rock/punk. The majority claimed that
the image itself clearly represented the genre,
especially through the connotations of the dark
clothes. However others believed that the model
looked more like a metal/screamo artist because of
her gun pose.
My aim for this particular model is to represent not
only the genre rock but also the sub-genres, for
example punk rock, pop rock, metal rock etc.
Therefore the feedback has demonstrated that I
have accurately achieved bringing a level of depth
into portraying more than one genre.
4. Even though the response on the colour and
content was good, it was said that the
masthead needed to stand out more on the
page as it was difficult to see because of the
background. As for the cover lines the colour
of these also made it difficult to read, also
the different font of the banner didn't flow
well with the rest of the cover as this was
the only place a different font was used
which caused a problem with the continuity
of cover.
In terms of changes, I am going to
experiment with the masthead and cover
line to make it more distinguishable. I will
aslo experiment the positioning of the cover
lines so more of the image is seen clearer.
