Hello, I am George; would you be able to take the time to fill in this questionnaire for my
Media music magazine?
1. Would you consider buying this magazine?

2. Give a reason why.
-Yes: Some said that it mentions a majority of bands that they listen to, some said yes
because of the competitions and gig guide.
-No: Some said they like rock but not the bands mentioned, some said no because they don’t
like the colour scheme.
3. Do you like the images and colours used on the front cover?
All of them had said they liked the images, but 2 out of 5 said they think the colours for the
front cover are too bright. The others said it fits well with the images.
4. Could I have used better images for my front cover? If yes, give a reason why.
-Yes: Some thought it was too much of a stereotypical rock artist image.
-No: Some thought the image suited my rock magazine.
5. Do the coverlines on the front cover catch your attention?
-Yes: It mentions bands that a lot of my focus group listens to.
-No: Some don’t listen to those bands.
6. How could I improve my front cover?
It was suggested that I use a photo of a whole band all wearing dark clothing and use a
darker colour scheme to fit in with its “gothicness”.
7. Are there any artists mentioned on the contents page that you would like to read
about?
Yes: 3/5 took an interest in every artist mentioned. 2/5 said very few bands caught their
attention.
8. Do you like how the texts and images have been laid out on the contents page?
Give a reason why.
All said yes because it has been organised well and all recognised my inspiration from
Kerrang! Magazine.
2. 9. How could I improve my contents page?
I should mention bands from other rock sub-genres so that there is more of a variety.
10. Do you like the colour scheme used for the article?
All said yes because it suits the bands gothic image.
11. Do you think the images fit in well with the article?
All said yes because it shows the band members showing aggression which fits in with the
colour scheme. However, some said the article is about a band member enjoying what he
has accomplished and is the opposite to what the images show.
12. Did you enjoy reading the article?
All said yes because they thought the questions were interesting and so were the answers.
13. How could I improve my article?
4 out of 5 said to either use angry-looking images with an “angry-article” or positive-looking
images with a happy article.
14. Overall, do you think my magazine looks professional and could compete with
others in the rock magazine industry?
4 out of 5 say it looks professional because of the layout and certain colour schemes used.
The remainder disagrees because they dislike the colour scheme used for the front cover.
