2. HOW I GOT MY FEEDBACK
During lesson, we did a ‘hot-desking’ activity, where we go to other
people’s computers and review their work from a non-biased critical
point of view in order to give them advice on how they could improve
and what needs to change.
Because of this I have received 4 responses from different people
answering the following questions, two of which were provided to
answer:
1. Is the page design appropriate for the task and why?
2. Do the images and text work together to create meaning and why?
3. What genre does the pose shown by the person in the image
represent?

4. QUESTION ONE: IS THE PAGE
DESIGN APPROPRIATE FOR THE
TASK AND WHY?
All four responses I received acknowledged and understood that the
intended genre is in fact music. “I would think upon first glance that
it is a music magazine.”
Also, another strength of my page layout is the fact that the colours I
have chosen are very effective and show good representation. An
improvement I could make however would be to adjust the font size
and face. According to feedback it does not connote rock.
So to take action from this feedback. I will be looking for a new font
to use for the text and increase the font size perhaps.

5. QUESTION TWO: DO THE IMAGES
AND TEXT WORK TOGETHER TO
CREATE MEANING AND WHY?
All four responses noticed that the image I used is attempting to
represent rock. “whereas the image and typography convey a specific
genre (rock/metal).”
A strength of my images and text is that the colours are good and
well placed. Also, the placement of my image is done well as I place
the text around it.
Some criticism I received was that not everything gives off the
impression of rock, this is font and also the image.
So to take action from this feedback I will be rethinking my image, I
want to retake it to be able to remove the black pillar from the
background as it clashes with the masthead.

6. QUESTION THREE: WHAT GENRE DOES
THE POSE SHOWN BY THE PERSON IN
THE IMAGE REPRESENT?
The majority of my responses were able to identify it was a music
magazine and to be more precise: genre being rock. “The pose and
costume of the actor suggest that it is rock or metal genre.”
There is not much strength for this area. My feedback suggests that I
could of chosen a better pose with more suitable clothing.
So to take action from this feedback I will be rethinking my image,
both the pose and clothing, perhaps bring in some props to solidify
the representation.
