7. OBJECTIVE
• All efforts are made to return items left
behind by the guest, before he leavesthe
hotel premises or thecity.
All items found are entered in
the lost and found register maintained at
housekeepingdesk.
8. PROCEDURE
Departures are informed by Front office to Housekeeping assoon asthe guest
informs/prepare to come down forcheck-out.
TheHKassociate checksfor mini bar consumption, guest items left behind and
• misuse/ missing hotel items.
Theitems left behind are immediately communicated to front office and returnedto the guest
before he settles his bills andchecks-out.
In casethe guest has departed to airport. Effort has to be made to ensure the items are sent for it
to reach the guest before he leaves the city.
Guest items purposely left behind or thrown in dust bins are entered in the lost and found
register and disbursed to the finder through an employee packageslip after three months.
All lost and found items are entered in the lost and found register.
9. PROCEDURE
• Receive the found article at the control desk.
• Fill the detail in the lost and found log book. Prepare the lost and found in triplicate.
• Original copy- is kept with the article.
• Duplicate copy-is sent to the front office to obtain data on the guest it may belong to.
• Triplicate copy –retained in the lost and found book.
10. PROCEDURE
• Store the found article in an opaque bag with date of finding and serial no. of the
article recorded in it.
• Receive any inquiry about the lost and found article.
• Ascertain enquiry with the register.
• If satisfied, issue the article and obtain the signature of the person collecting the
article on the original form.
• File the original slip, recording the date and time of the delivery of the article in
the register.
