 Designed, managed and implemented migrations and upgrades including replacing network infrastructure,

Windows Server 2003 and 2008, Novell 6.5 and OES 2, Windows XP and Windows 7, Linux, Exchange 
2003 and 2007, resulting in cost savings of at least $125,000 and increased efficiency at Jewish Museum. 
 Moved server environment from 20 individual servers to 3 virtualized servers resulting in savings of close to 
$40,000 and significantly improved usage of disk storage by at least 50% at The Jewish Museum. 
 Established the eligibility of the Jewish Museum to qualify for State Contract pricing and was thus able to 
replace the entire stock of 130 PCs using state aggregate pricing at a 35% savings of $30,000.

Chief Information Officer 
Responsible for directing and decision making for the entire IT operation including infrastructure, LAN/WAN, project 
management, hardware/software and vendor negotiation and selection, and day-to day management of the staff. 
Highlights 
 Assemble budgets for maintaining current operations and prepare budgets and short and long-term plans for 
future development in the PC, network and internet environments. 
 Develop and annually review disaster recovery plans including VM backups and backup via Internet. 
 Install and maintain Great Plains Dynamics, Raisers Edge, TM Vista and The Museum System. Included 
managing SQL back-end. 
 Created procedure to automate data scrubbing of Raiser’s Edge constituents to adhere to standards established 
to comply with branding. Also, developed procedure to automate quarterly update of all “moves” to comply with 
USPS requirements. 
 Evaluated and acquired eHelpDesk software to manage and organize enterprise-wide Help Desk. SLA of 2 
hours was established and adhered to. Improvements reduced daily volume from 20+ to under 10 tickets. 
 Established corporate policies for utilization of internet, e-mail and computer systems. Evaluated and purchased 
software (Surf Control and Websense) to monitor and enforce corporate policies. 
 Upgraded router to increase the speed of Internet access and brought fiber directly into the Museum saving up to 
80% less than otherwise possible. 
 Instituted the centralized management of all PCs utilizing ZenWorks for installation and maintenance of software 
and ePO for McAfee anti-virus resulting in a 95% reduction in man-hours required to install or upgrade software. 
 Personally designed and developed a Volunteer Management System in Visual Basic enabling the Human 
Resources department to track volunteer information saving the museum $5,000 in outside vendor costs. 
 Established eligibility for the IT department with NYS Department of Education to buy software, hardware and 
services off of NYS Contract - Education pricing thus saving tens of thousands of dollars annually. 
 Migrated server environment to VMWare to reduce costs, provide redundancy and increase flexibility. 
 Replaced the existing high volume in-house color printing process, lowering the museum’s overall printing cost 
and reducing Help Desk tickets by 40% as most tickets were due to printer issues. 
 Manage daily operations of the IT department. Identify and delegate assignments. Provide assistance and 
mentoring and make recommendations to help staff successfully complete tasks on time and in budget. 
 Provide hands-on application support for in-house systems including Great Plains Dynamics, The Museum 
System, Vista Ticketing & Scheduling, and Raiser’s Edge.

Evaluated and purchased software (Surf Control and Websense) to monitor and enforce corporate policies.  Upgraded router to increase the speed of Internet access and brought fiber directly into the Museum saving up to 80% less than otherwise possible.  Instituted the centralized management of all PCs utilizing ZenWorks for installation and maintenance of software and ePO for McAfee anti-virus resulting in a 95% reduction in man-hours required to install or upgrade software.  Personally designed and developed a Volunteer Management System in Visual Basic enabling the Human Resources department to track volunteer information saving the museum $5,000 in outside vendor costs.  Established eligibility for the IT department with NYS Department of Education to buy software, hardware and services off of NYS Contract - Education pricing thus saving tens of thousands of dollars annually.  Migrated server environment to VMWare to reduce costs, provide redundancy and increase flexibility.  Replaced the existing high volume in-house color printing process, lowering the museum’s overall printing cost and reducing Help Desk tickets by 40% as most tickets were due to printer issues.  Manage daily operations of the IT department.
