1. Digital Technology
When I started AS media studies I knew nothing about technology, except how to turn equipment on.
Therefore learning how to use the different array of equipment available to us helped my group and I vision
what shots we were going to use to help us create a film opening. The digital technology allowed me to be
creative because when editing our opening we used different transition and techniques such as blurring
elements. Although I struggled with this, I managed to over it through looking things up on google, asking my
peers and teachers.
Advantages Disadvantages
I learnt a variety of skills and
techniques
I found the movement of the camera
quite difficult
Good editing software which enabled
us to be creative
As a group we found it hard to
incorporate everyone’s ideas
I learnt how to work within a team and
hand out roles and responsibilities
when it came to using the equipment.
Weren’t able to use all the equipment
available to us.
I learnt that organisation was key to
this process
Digital technology was extremely helpful when it came to the post- production because we needed to
incorporate sound effects into our film opening. Not only this but we had to learn how to do the different
transitions in order for our opening to be as creative as possible. Furthermore it has prepared us for our A2
coursework.
