1. How did you use media technologies
in the construction, research,
planning and evaluation stages?

2. Did it improve your work?
The use of media technologies in our A2 pieces of work defiantly helped us to improve to
improve how our coursework looks. The use of Software in all of our stages in our media. We
used editing software, recording software and also a blogging website called ‘Blogger’. We used
different pieces of hardware to proceed through our media course. To record our main task, we
used a tripod, camera and also used a Mac to edit the trailer, as well as to create the auxiliary
tasks.

3. Did it offer more opportunities?
Our group believes that the use of all the different media technologies gave us more and more
opportunities to do more research and to add more to our work (the trailer and the auxiliary
tasks.)
The opportunity to work with the different media technologies at AS helped our group to
become more accustom to the work that we had to do for A2, and we did all the work in a
greater amount of detail and seem more professional.

4. Did the technology hold you back? If so,
how?
The software technologies held our group back the most, due to the fact that we were not
familiar with how the software worked. This held us back as we had to spend longer figuring out
what effects we wanted to add and how to add them to any of our tasks. The hardest software
to learn for ourselves was Adobe Premier Pro on the Macs. We spent lots of time trying to find
the right effects and trying to make our trailer seem professional, which held us back as it took
us longer than we anticipated it to.
The second hardest piece of software which we needed to learn was Adobe Photoshop. This was
critical for us to learn as we needed to make both of our auxiliary tasks as well as the green
screen at the beginning of our trailer. Learning all the processes took our group a longer time
and it denied us the ability to move on quickly when making our poster and magazine.

5. Did you use technology to interact with
the audience?
We used several different mediums to get feedback and to interact with our audience in the
research and planning stages, we used our digital media to communicate with our audiences via
polls on our blogger webpages. This gave us an accurate response from horror film fans about
what they wanted to see from our horror trailer.

6. Why did you decide to use those
technologies?
We decided to use the different hardware and software's as they were all available to us and
using them would make our production and editing stages easier and also make our production
look more professional. We also decided to host polls on our blogs so that we can figure out
audience opinions on fonts and names for the titles of our auxiliary tasks and to help us decide
what direction we should take our trailer.
