Question 6
1. Question 6: What have you learnt
about technologies from the process
of constructing this product?
2. Use of Internet
The internet was a major aspect in the making of my final
piece. I used the likes of YouTube to look up tutorials on
how to use Photoshop and the Canon600D, and I also
used Google to look up the codes and conventions of
music magazines (on my blog)
Going onto the internet also helped me to understand
typical layouts and photography techniques used in
magazines. Without the use of the internet and Blogspot
as a whole, it would have been extremely difficult to keep
on top of my work and label/construct everything in a
clear and precise manner.
3. Technology
Throughout the whole process of the final
production I learnt a number of techniques and
learnt how to improve my work by using things
such as:
• Camera - Canon 600D
• The internet (Google/Blogger)
• Photoshop
• Lighting
4. Photoshop and Lighting
Using Adobe Photoshop 7.0 I was able to construct text, boxes
and add images. With the help of YouTube I was able to learn
skills such as the clone tool or the liquify tool (shown in bog) and
although at first I struggles to use the software, after a few
tutorials and trials with the software I was able to start using it
effectively.
Using the lighting in the media studio was difficult as I had no
background in using this type of equipment. However after a
period of trial and error I found the right set up for me and for
my model and was able to create the lighting as seen in my final
production.
5. Conclusion
The use of technology has been one of the most
important parts of this final product. Without the use of
technology I wouldn’t have been able to produce a final
piece with the same level of professionalism.
The use of Google and YouTube also allowed me to
research theorists and tips on how to use certain bit of
equipment or software. Thanks to all these sections I was
able to produce my final product, therefore I believe the
technology was one of the most important parts of the
whole production process.
