How did you use media technologies in the
construction and research, planning and
evaluation stages?
Looking at this question through
PowerPoint I will demonstrate in more
direct detail the way in which me and my
team utilized media technology in this
project.

2. Planning
Without digital technology planning this task would be very
hard.
• My own mobile phone was essential in recording some of
the very good audience responses, without this I would
have had to note this down by hand.
• The disadvantage of this is that I wouldn’t be able to
access this information when I want and I wont be able to
convince moderators that I have went out and researched
around my project.

3. Social networking which is accessed through technology was
used in order to maintain contact with my artist, this was essential
in the planning stage in order to arrange times and dates for our
photo shoot and filming.
In fact without technology we wouldn’t of got in contact with
“Hdot” since we found him on a website called “Unsigned.com.”
In order to arrange information in which we gathered from
research we used a website called “timeglider” for our time line
task. This is easy to access and very engaging through use of
images that have been applied to it.

4. Finally we used youtube in
order to research in to music
videos for genre research and
contemporary issues research.
Youtube was utilized to further
our understanding of practically
everything that is involved
within the music video industry.
Just as we stated in the video
for this evaluation, without
youtube I’d have to seat and
watch MTV all day until a music
video I need to watch comes on.
I would have to stay up very late for this video!

5. Production
One of the most obvious forms of
technology used in the production
process was the HD cameras. These
were very useful because the shots
taken off of these devices were
very clear, we could also easily
delete and re edit shots of these
cameras. Older forms of camera
had a smaller memory storage and
didn’t have a small memory stick to
store this memory on. Although the
use of camera was helpful it still
wasn’t able to prevent the glare
coming out from the rain.

6. The macs were also essential in the
production process. On the macs we
used final cut to edit our footage, final cut
being a high tech editing programme
which enabled us to cut shots however
we like and even edit the brightness and
contrast for the glary shots. The macs
provided easy access to our footage and
without them editing would be a very
hard job, just think of the video placed for
this evaluation.

7. Evaluation
Technology has even been used in the process of
evaluating the work I have done throughout this project.
Aside from apple macs and youtube, the green screen
was by far the most interesting form of technology used,
The green screen allowed us to shoot shots of us
narrating to the camera and then edit these shots so that
we can include images of what we were referring to.
This not only makes our point clearer it also engages
viewers more easily due to the fact that they are
visualising what we are explaning.
