14. • We have learned that when compound finals that begin with
“u” are used as individual syllables, “u” changes into “w”. So
“uɑn, uen” change to “wɑn, wen”.
17. • The final “e” is omitted when there is an initial in front of the
compound final “uen”. The tone is marked above the “u”. E.g.
“l+uen”( the second tone) →“lún”
19. • We have learned that when compound finals that begin with
“ü” appear as individual syllables, the two dots above “ü” are
omitted and the letter “y” is placed before the “u”.
