ACTIVE VOICE
•Active voice is used when we have to give
importance to the subject (Noun /pronoun) of
the sentence
•Example : - The corporation builds the road
•Here the importance in given to corporation
i.e. to the subject
•( The word which is given importance comes at
the beginning of the sentence)
PASSIVE VOICE
•Passive voice is used when we have to give
importance to the object of the sentence
•Example : - The road is built by the
corporation
•Here the importance is given to the road
(object) Thus it is at the beginning of the
sentence
HOW TO CHANGE ACTIVE VOICE TO
PASSIVE VOICE WITHOUT FORMULA
USE OF SIXTH INFLECTIONAL
SUFFIX(षष्ठी विभक्ति प्रत्यय)

REMEMBERABLE POINTS
1. The passive voice of perfect continuous tense &
future continuous tense can’t be done
2. Always use Sixth Inflectional Suffix for subject of
active voice in passive voice
3. If object is absent in active voice then use any
pronoun or noun. But usually the ‘someone’ is
used
4. If there is negative subject in the sentence then
you can use a negative word or the negative
subject as it is
Ex. Nobody can teach you.
Ans. You can’t be taught by anyone or
You can be taught by nobody
5. If Modal auxiliary and form of ‘to have’ both are
present in the sentence then use the been.
Ex. I shall have played cricket.
Ans. The cricket will have been played by me.
6. Use the ‘have &has’, ‘will and shall' according to the
first& second words of sentence
7. In some sentence the use 'by +s' is avoided
Ex. People speak English all over the world
Ans. The English is spoken all over the world .
1 .We can use the shoes
Ans. 1st step :- Replace the ‘we’ to ‘the shoes’.
2nd step :- Here the can is Modal auxiliary .
Thus use ‘Can +be’
3rd step : - Used (V3 of use) + by + us(
subject)
Answer : - The shoes can be used by us .

Ans. Cake is being made by me.
2. I have sung a song.
Ans. A song has been sung by me.
3. I climbed the mountain.
Ans. The mountain was climbed by me.
4. You was playing cricket.
Ans. Cricket was being played by you.
5. They had completed their homework.
Ans. Their homework had been completed by them.
EXAMPLES
6. He will make a cup of tea.
Ans. A cup of tea will be made by him.
7. We shall have studied the maths.
Ans. The maths will have been studied by us.
8. M.Hamel did not scold Franz.
Ans. Franz was not scolded by M.Hamel .
9. You have raised this dreadful tempest.
Ans. The dreadful tempest have been raised by you.
10. We must guard it.
Ans. It must be guarded by us.

Passive voice main

  • 2. ENGLISH VOICE 1. ACTIVE VOICE 2. PASSIVE VOICE
  • 3. ACTIVE VOICE •Active voice is used when we have to give importance to the subject (Noun /pronoun) of the sentence •Example : - The corporation builds the road •Here the importance in given to corporation i.e. to the subject •( The word which is given importance comes at the beginning of the sentence)
  • 4. PASSIVE VOICE •Passive voice is used when we have to give importance to the object of the sentence •Example : - The road is built by the corporation •Here the importance is given to the road (object) Thus it is at the beginning of the sentence
  • 5. HOW TO CHANGE ACTIVE VOICE TO PASSIVE VOICE WITHOUT FORMULA
  • 6. USE OF SIXTH INFLECTIONAL SUFFIX(षष्ठी विभक्ति प्रत्यय) Pronoun Sixth Inflectional Suffix 1st person I We Me Us 2nd person You You 3rd person He She It They Him Her It Them
  • 7. REMEMBERABLE POINTS 1. The passive voice of perfect continuous tense & future continuous tense can’t be done 2. Always use Sixth Inflectional Suffix for subject of active voice in passive voice 3. If object is absent in active voice then use any pronoun or noun. But usually the ‘someone’ is used 4. If there is negative subject in the sentence then you can use a negative word or the negative subject as it is
  • 8. Ex. Nobody can teach you. Ans. You can’t be taught by anyone or You can be taught by nobody 5. If Modal auxiliary and form of ‘to have’ both are present in the sentence then use the been. Ex. I shall have played cricket. Ans. The cricket will have been played by me. 6. Use the ‘have &has’, ‘will and shall' according to the first& second words of sentence 7. In some sentence the use 'by +s' is avoided Ex. People speak English all over the world Ans. The English is spoken all over the world .
  • 9. 1 .We can use the shoes Ans. 1st step :- Replace the ‘we’ to ‘the shoes’. 2nd step :- Here the can is Modal auxiliary . Thus use ‘Can +be’ 3rd step : - Used (V3 of use) + by + us( subject) Answer : - The shoes can be used by us . EXAMPLES
  • 10. EXAMPLES 1. I am making cake. Ans. Cake is being made by me. 2. I have sung a song. Ans. A song has been sung by me. 3. I climbed the mountain. Ans. The mountain was climbed by me. 4. You was playing cricket. Ans. Cricket was being played by you. 5. They had completed their homework. Ans. Their homework had been completed by them.
  • 11. EXAMPLES 6. He will make a cup of tea. Ans. A cup of tea will be made by him. 7. We shall have studied the maths. Ans. The maths will have been studied by us. 8. M.Hamel did not scold Franz. Ans. Franz was not scolded by M.Hamel . 9. You have raised this dreadful tempest. Ans. The dreadful tempest have been raised by you. 10. We must guard it. Ans. It must be guarded by us.
