2.  State your subgenre
 The sub genre that we are going to be doing is disaster
thriller
 Outline plot of sequence
 In our film it will show the strong bond between two
brothers. However one of the brothers got into a tragic car
accident and passes away however it is not real to the
other brother so he continuously imagines his brother is
still with him all the time. And in him doing so form
everyone else's point of view the brother is talking to
himself
 Themes- reality, perception, mind, purpose, identity, death.

3.  Young people- portrayed in a positive way as it shows them
being friendly towards each other and having a true connection with
the brothers.
 Males- portrayed positively as the brothers are shown to
genuinely care about each other so much so that after he is gone
he still believes that he is still here.
 Females- portrayed positively as she is shown to care about
her friend and asks if he is ok.
 Genre- usually in these genres women are the victim and men
are the villains. In this case it is different at this point in the film
there is no villain
 Society- in society men are more violent than women and this is
shown in out film when they are messing about and he gets pushed
in the road.

4.  Interior?
The places we will film form inside are going to be
inside the refectory, along the corridors in media
 Exterior?
We will be filming on the main road just outside of
college as well as by west wing and out side the
media block

We will need permission to use empty classrooms
from the teachers

5.  Act 1- key moment- seeing dead body on
floor
 Act 2- key moment- finds out what actually
happens
 Act 3- key moment- Lamar sees Marcus in
his mind “find him” implies need for revenge

6.  Character 1
 Lamar – has similar personality to his brother in that they enjoy
always going out and playing football
 Character 2
 Marcus – outgoing and was good friends with everyone which is
why it has such a great effect and lots of people at the college
when he is gone
 Character 3
 Emilie – she is a background character who will always make it
clear to the audience that Lamar is going crazy

We will have lots of changes in camera angles
Low key lighting where suitable
Quick cuts and shadows also where suitable
 Attracting target Audience?
The way in which we will catch the audience attention Is by
misleading from the start as they will assume that me and Marcus
are to ordinary brother at college however they will then realise
that Marcus is dead and Lamar's starting to go crazy
 Mood/Atmosphere creation?
From Lamar's point of view he will be happy and always full of
energy form his brother however from someone else's point of view
they will be really sad and feel sorry from Lamar

8.  Setting – time and place
It will be the middle of the day at college right in the
middle of college as well where everyone usually is
 Props – prop requests?
The props that we will be using are a flashlight when we
are creating the accident scene ruck sacks when making
it clear that we are college students
 Lighting
We will have bright lighting when it is form Lamar's point
of view however when it from another persons point of
view is would be very dull colour and low lighting
 Costume/makeup
We wont be using any makeup and costumes wont be
needed as all characters will be wearing standard casual
clothing

9.  Which films and opening sequences have influenced you
and why?
 The film influenced our group the most is shutter island
reason being in this thriller it fully throws off the audience
from the beginning as they make out that both of the main
characters are fully sane however then when watching the
entire film you begin to reason that one of them mentally
broken. From this it influenced our group massively as this
is what we are going to try to remake in our opener as we
will make it unclear that one of the brothers is out of his
mind but from the audience perspective at first everything
seems normal.
