I distributed 11 questionnaires to a sample of my target audience (11 males, social class c1/c2 and who’re
interested in hip-hop music.
My questions are displayed in black text and the analysis/summery of the question is highlighted in red,
bold and italics.

A: The overall majority of respondents chose the answer ‘£2-£3’. This was chosen by 7 out of 11

A: One of the people who answered this question said ‘Vibe’ and the other person answered ‘NME’.

A: The two candidates that answered this question were the ones from the previous. The person who
reads ‘Vibe’ said they like ‘the artist’s features in the magazine.’ However, the respondent who
answered ‘NME’ said that they like that it has ‘a varied style’.

A: Two candidates never picked anything due to liking music magazines. On the other hand, six people
chose ‘They’re too expensive’ and two people chose ‘they don’t interest me’.

A: The results for this question were quite close. 4 candidates answered C and then 3 candidates
answered A and the same for D. This showed that audiences mainly like magazine C. The majority of
respondents said that their reason for this was because it has a consistent theme.

A: From these results it was clear that people thought that several images was an okay idea, The most
common vote for this was 3. For question B the most common answer was 4 meaning people strongly
agree that there should be pictures of artists/bands. For Question C, 2 was the most common answer
meaning that the respondents think that's a bad idea to include music props and instruments. For
question D, 5 was answered the most times meaning, respondents think that bright colours are vital in
magazines. For question E 1 was the most common answer meaning respondents don't want dark
colours in hip-hop music magazines.

A: The overall result of this was the for gigs and guides a huge majority of respondents voted that they
strongly agree to see gig guides in music magazines and this was the same for general information and
gossip. It's clear what people want in the magazines however many people never answered the 'other'
section. Therefore, I cannot retain further more accurate information on what to include in my
magazine.

• 'Interview with a Hip hop artist/band Article about the Hip hop scene' – Results from this
question were answered by the respondents and the majority voted 4 meaning that the
questioned respondents think that an interview would be a good aspect to the magazine.
• 'General article about main Hip hop developments' -The majority of respondents voted 3
meaning that it would be a good idea to have a general article but not an amazing idea.
• 'Musical instruments/props' – The majority of respondents voted 4. Henceforth, it would be a
good initial idea to include props and instruments associated with hip-hop.
• 'Bright colours' – The majority voted 5 for bright colours. Therefore, respondents think that it
would be a good idea to include bright colours in hip-hop magazines.
• 'Darker colours' – The majority voted 2 for this. Evidencing, that it wouldn't be an amazing
idea to add dark colours in to a hip-hop magazine.
