QUESTIONNAIRE ANYALSIS
I am going to create a music magazine and in preparation I made a questionnaire, I will
analyse the results.
1. Which is your favourite music genre?
From the graph of my results, my target audience of 16-25 liked R&B and Hip-hop. I am
doing an indie music magazine, so I shall merge some R&B and indie together.
2. What iconography doyou relate tothe indie music genre?
Majority of people see flowers as the iconography for indie music, then some people
thought of dream catchers and nobody liked hippies to indie music. Flowers are
often portrayed by the media and indie artists as iconography to indie music. They
are often in the artist’s hair and pictures or music videos.

3. What is your gender?
There was 8 females and 2 males, so I had more females than males answer my
questionnaire. My target audience is female and male from the ages of 16-25, I think the
indie genre if often more liked by females than males. I had many more females than males,
maybe next time I would have more of balanced gender response.
4. How oftendo you listentomusic?
10 out of 10 people listen to music every day, which is all of my participants. This
shows that all of my questionnaire participants are big fans and lovers of music. No
one listens to music once a week or once a month.
5. What typography do you like the most?

For the typography, the responses were quite varied. For sample 3 and 4 there
were 4 people who liked those the most. No one liked sample 1 and for sample 4,
there was 2 people who liked that font the most.
6. What is your favourite music magazine?
When asking what my participant’s favourite music magazines were, I gave 3 options
of well-known magazines. I gave the option of Vibe, Rolling stone and the fly. 6
people chose vibe magazine as their favourite music magazine. Rolling stone was
chosen by 4 people. I will study the style of vibe magazine and try to mirror the style
of magazine that it is.

7. What colour scheme would you like to see?
The majority of people chose colour scheme number 1, 5 people chose colour
scheme number 1. 2 people chose colour scheme number 2 and 3 people chose
colour scheme number 3.
8. Do you use any social networking sites?
When asking people if they use social networking sites, I gave them the options of
Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or other. An equal amount of people used Twitter,
Facebook and Instagram. Only one person used other.

9. How much would you be willing to pay for a magazine?
I asked people how much they would be willing to pay for a magazine and 5 people
were willing to pay between 1p-50p. 3 people were willing to pay between 50p-
£1.00. 2 people would be willing to pay £1.00-£2.00. Based on this feedback I would
price my music magazine at about £50p.
10. Who would you prefer on the front cover? Male or Female?

The general consensus of whether people would like a male of female on the front
cover, was that majority of people would want a women on the front cover. For my
magazine I will take this into account and try to cater to my target audience.

The majority of people chose colour scheme number 1, 5 people chose colour scheme number 1. 2 people chose colour scheme number 2 and 3 people chose colour scheme number 3. 8. Do you use any social networking sites? When asking people if they use social networking sites, I gave them the options of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or other. I asked people how much they would be willing to pay for a magazine and 5 people were willing to pay between 1p-50p. 3 people were willing to pay between 50p- £1.00. 2 people would be willing to pay £1.00-£2.00. Based on this feedback I would price my music magazine at about £50p. 10. Who would you prefer on the front cover?   • 6. The general consensus of whether people would like a male of female on the front cover, was that majority of people would want a women on the front cover. For my magazine I will take this into account and try to cater to my target audience.
