9. Fairfax County, Virginia, selected SAP; financial, human capital management (HCM) and procurement
solutions to streamline the day-to-day operations of its county government and public school system.
Project Background: GSTI was responsible for the SAP FI (AR and AP), HCM, SD technical development.
The work included development of 62 Objects in about 3 months. The objects included PI Interfaces (52
Interfaces), Forms (10) etc. 10 developers worked on this project.
Project Goals: streamline the day-to-day operations of its county government and public school system
Implementation : Objects Complexity/Estimation Effort was estimated by Onsite Coordinator /
Development Lead and GSTi Technical Lead. The team was responsible for Technical Design, Coding,
Technical Unit Testing, etc. The Offsite team was responsible for the timely delivery of the objects and
respond to Review Comments. The team also was responsible for completing the Change Requests for
the Objects. Offsite team was responsible for the knowledge transfer to the existing team members
when rolling off, each time on the project methodologies, standards and strategies.
Result: 10 developers worked on this project, and all objects were completed on time.
10. State of California SAP HR Time Entry and Pay Implementation for 242,000 Employees in 175 Departments.
Project Background: GSTi was responsible for the SAP HR technical development. The work included
development of 250 Objects in about 8 months. The objects included enhancements, interfaces,
reports, conversion programs etc.
Project Goals: streamline the day-to-day operations of its state government.
Implementation details: SharePoint was used for tracking the project and storing all the development
documents. All SCO developer’s Issues/Questions regarding RICEFW Development was
captured/tracked using Communication Logs. All Technical Specifications were created by the Offsite
team and approved by onsite coordinators. All Object assignments were emailed through
Development Managers. In case of escalations, SCO/SAP Development Managers along with SAP
Onsite coordinators were kept in loop.
Objects Complexity/Estimation Effort was estimated by Onsite Coordinators /Development Lead.
Offsite (GSTI) teams were required to strictly adhere to the MyCalPays Development Standards set
forth. The team was responsible for Technical Design, Coding, Technical Unit Testing, Code Review
Checklist, Object Delivery Checklist etc. as required. The Offsite team was responsible for the timely
delivery of the objects and respond to all Review comments. Offsite team was responsible for the
knowledge transfer to the new team members each time on the project methodologies, standards and
strategies.
Result: 40 developers worked on this project, and all objects were completed on time.
11. Project Background: This task is an extension of the previous Project which was a business re-engineering project
across the whole of Vaccines Supply Chain. This has included the re-design and re-implementation of a new Sales &
Operation Planning process. This project is planned to have a similar yet reduced scope as the previous project but
focused on the Diagnostics Business Unit Immuno Manufacturing planning process.
Project Goals: SAP QM, MM and PP were the main modules of focus. Auto Signatures for QM were applied and
batches run at a single time increased from 1 to 90 with Auto Signature.
Migrate material batch release functionality from our client system into our SAP ERP 6.0 system; working in
validated GxP pharmaceutical or biotechnology Management (MM) and Production Planning (PP).
Completion of functional and technical solution design including testing and execution of change packages.
Execution of data migration and cutover activities to support solution deployment.
Dead Line: Quality, Materials and Production Planning were all to be addressed over the course of 8 months.
Implementation : Two key consultants were responsible for this project, an SAP SCM Project Manager and an SAP
QM consultant. Most of the tasks involved are Knowledge Transfer by working with client associates to gain
knowledge required to complete remaining tasks. Support user community by ensuring users are trained in project
procedures and supported in the execution of the roles as appropriate.
Result : The client’s vaccine production was drastically increased by 90% on every batch of vaccines being run and
increasing the amount of vaccines available for sale.
Customer Feedback : The client was ecstatic to have production increased a remarkable level of 90% for every
batch of vaccines being run.
12. Project Background: This is part 1 of a larger project for DPSG. Part 1 includes: all of SAP EAM’s business content
activated and ready for use using SAP BEx. Part 1 includes: detailed documentation of all relevant metadata content
such as info-providers, info-objects, transformation rules, queries, etc.
Project Goals:
• Drive requirements gathering and blueprint workshops
• Design and development solution is SAP ECC 6.9 that supports EDI conversion of inbound EDI 850,855 Message
into the current sales order processing solution
• Support implementation of VMI for a new client (using the current VMI solution in APO)
• Redesign and improve the current gaps and issues with the existing VMI solution
• Collaborate with the business users external customers, EDI service provider, other SAP functional and
development teams.
