Jaipur: Chief Minister
Ashok Gehlot has as-
sured that the State
Government is making
every effort to save the
lives of bovines from
lumpy skin disease in
the state.
While talking to the
media in Rajasthan
Legislative Assembly
on Monday, he said that
all the members of the
Legislative Assembly to
move away from politi-
cal ideology and come
forward to save the bo-
vines. “Together, they
should demand the Cen-
tral Government to de-
clare this disease as a
national calamity and
to be treated like pan-
demic, so that the dis-
ease can be controlled
at the earliest. It is the
important responsibil-
ity of the Central Gov-
ernment to ensure the
supply of necessary
vaccines and medi-
cines for the preven-
tion of the disease. For
this the members of
the opposition should
cooperate,” he said.
The Chief Minister
said that on August 15,
2022, an all-party meet-
ing was held at the
Chief Minister’s resi-
dence for the preven-
tion of lumpy skin dis-
ease in the state.
“In this, discussions
were held with the pub-
lic representatives of
various parties, reli-
gious leaders, volun-
tary organizations, gos-
hala operators and ex-
perts etc. regarding
lumpy disease. Every-
one unanimously called
it a serious matter.
Therefore, we all should
make efforts to declare
the disease as a nation-
al calamity by forget-

ences.” he said.

TOP TWEETS
STATE PCC UNITS
SUPPORT FOR RaGa
AS PRESIDENT MAY
SILENCE DISSENTERS
otification for Con-
gress president’s
election is expected
on September 22.
However, with one
state unit after another reposing
faith in Rahul Gandhi’s leader-
ship, chances are that the much-
promised election to the top post
of the party will not happen.
After Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh
and Gujarat, Maharashtra unit
of the party also backed Rahul
as party chief. Tamil Nadu and
Bihar units also want Rahul at
the helm. Garnering support
from state units is not the kind
of reforms dissenting members
of the party talked about but it
is obvious that Rahul is set to
take over from Sonia Gandhi.
Rahul himself is busy with
his Bharat Jodo Yatra in a bid to
revive the party but his focus so
far has been more on the south-
ern states and not those where
the party barely exists. He also
skipped the north-eastern states
and Gujarat. Especially intrigu-
ing was his spending 18 days in
the Communist ruled Kerala and
only two days in Uttar Pradesh.
N
omen may not
have got 33 per-
cent reservation
in legislatures yet
but they will sure-
ly have a day - September 22
- in the UP Assembly all to
themselves. Only women
members of the House will
debate various issues, includ-
ing those concerning their
respective constituencies and
women. If all goes well pre-
siding officers for the two
Houses will also be appointed
for the day from among the
women legislators. Since 33
percent reservation for wom-
en is not happening any time
soon, this unique experiment
should be more than a conso-
lation for them. The Opposi-
tion planned to raise a storm
during the five-day session
over the recent rapes and
murders in Lakhimpur Kheri
but it could find itself run out
of steam when women hold
the charge.
The Speaker Satish Maha-
na said that the step was initi-
ated as women legislators
were hesitant to take part in
discussions due to male dom-
ination as that made them
uncomfortable. Interestingly
,
of the 46 women legislators 30
belong to the BJP
, 12 are from
the Samajwadi Party and
three are from Apna Dal. Con-
gress has just one member.
The debate on crime against
women would be worth
watching when the House as-
sembles on September 22.
While this novel idea
should be welcomed, women
deserve 33 percent represen-
tation in the legislatures. It is
a long-pending demand but
political parties in reality
baulk at the proposal while
making promises. A Bill to
grant women 33 percent rep-
resentation in Parliament
and state legislatures has
been awaiting nod for the last
over 25 years. Maybe, UP will
also work towards that.
A DAY FOR WOMEN
MLAs IN UP HOUSE
Only women members of
the House will debate on
various issues, including
those concerning
their respective
constituencies and
women. If all goes well,
presiding officers for the two
Houses will also be
appointed for the day from
among the women legislators
W
PUNCTUALITY
CONSCIOUSNESS
etter late than never!”, “I may
get late but I’ll be there!” We
often hear such expressions,
but really which one of us
likes to be kept waiting?
Punctuality is a mark of
consideration, orderliness
and thoughtfulness. It means
arriving or acting at the right
time.Apunctualtrain/flight,
apunctualpaymentorapunc-
tual person shows up ‘on the
dot.’Itrequiresgoodplanning
andforesight,thoughattimes,
one can be unavoidably late.
The one who is habitually
late seems to convey by his /
her actions, “my time is more
valuable than yours, so you
can wait until I am ready
.”
Such a person appears not
only disorganized and unreli-
able but also somewhat egois-
ticandinconsiderate.He/She
loses the respect of others and
is viewed as non-dependable.
In nature, we observe from
the smallest living things to
the boundless universe, that
all of them operate as if gov-
erned by an invisible clock.
Even farmers plant crops on
time in order to get the best
possible harvest.
Some might feel that they
do not like to live by the clock,
having their every move gov-
erned by it. Being punctual is
not simply a matter of being
controlled by the clock. It is
about having other people’s
interest and benefit in mind.
It enables others to cooperate
and much can be accom-
plished as a result.
Attitude towards time var-
ies from one part of the world
to another. To be punctual is
more than a regional prefer-
ence. It is a habit, as being hy-
genic or polite is a habit. One
is not born with them, they
need to be cultivated. Most
people may come from fami-
lies and backgrounds where
there is no concept of punctu-
ality, or a need to coordinate
one’s efforts with others.
Questions to ask oneself,
“Am I known to be a latecom-
er? Am I easily distracted?
Do I have difficulty in organ-
izing myself? Do I keep work
pending?”
At times, there are hidden
motives behind lateness – that
of showing one’s own impor-
tance, getting attention, or
avoiding the need to wait for
others. An even more subtle
cause for lateness is to auto-
matically create a last-minute
rush to provide some kind of
excitement.Byplanningweek-
ends effectively
, the monotony
of routine work can be broken
and one can feel recharged.
When two parties agree to
meet at a specific time and
place, it is decent and proper
for them to be punctual. But
those who constantly make
others wait steal their time.
If oneisregularlylateforap-
pointments, advance planning
helps in cutting non-essential
time wasters and prevents one
from overbooking one’s sched-
ule.Thishelptoavoidunneces-
sary stress for oneself and oth-
ers. Aiming to arrive early al-
lows for unexpected circum-
stances such as traffic conges-
tion or bad weather.
How can one cope with
family members and associ-
ates who are often late? Such
ones can be reminded in ad-
vance. An honest talk about
the problem with them can
be helpful. Also, accepting
their lateness as a fact of life,
one can develop strategies to
cope with it effectively
.
For instance, working with
those who have an easygoing
approach to put off things un-
til “tomorrow”, we must be
careful not to lose mutual
trust and confidence in the
interest of productivity
. Rath-
er than taking out frustra-
tion,kindnessmusttakeprec-
edence over efficiency
. Antici-
pating beforehand the need to
wait, can prepare us to keep
other tasks handy
. In some
cases, one may avoid includ-
ing latecomers in important
plans to maintain peace.
Timing every activity leads
to saving extra time. An extra
ten minutes each morning, or
a half hour in the evening or
just a few minutes here and
there during the day
, can be a
personal reward.
Punctuality indicates com-
petence. It reflects being in
control of one’s life. It also
shows dependability. Such
persons are appreciated and
respected for keeping their
word. Organizations value
those who arrive on time and
meet deadlines. They are re-
warded with higher salary
and greater trust.
Being punctual demon-
strates reliability, diligence
and trust worthiness – skills
that show professionalism.
Punctual and prompt per-
sons impart confidence in
others. They remain calm
and get more done from oth-
ers. When punctuality be-
comes a habit, one does not
need to dash frantically from
one thing to another.
“Do you love life? Then do
not squander time, for that is
the stuff life is made of,” said
a philosopher. With a right
mind-set, self control and
personal discipline – one can
be punctuality conscious!

Alappuzha (ANI): The
12th day of ‘Bharat
Jodo Yatra’ started with
an interaction between
Congress MP Rahul
Gandhi and the fisher
folk of Alappuzha dis-
trict on Monday
.
The interaction took
place at 6 AM in the
morning at Vadackal
beach in Alappuzha.
He extended his sup-
port to the fishermen
and said that he was
aware of the problems
faced by the fisher folk.
“The government is
not giving subsidies to
the labourers, but it is
givingenoughtreatment
to the billionaires who
are close with the gov-
ernment. Everyone
should think about
where the subsidy is go-
ing,”saidRahulGandhi.
During the interac-
tion, Rahul Gandhi also
alleged that there were
no job opportunities
that were created by the
Central Government.
“Government is not
interested in getting
enough education to the
children of common
people and they are not
also interested in get-
ting jobs to them. The
central government is
only interested in two
or three rich people
who are very close to
the government. There
is no concern for the
government about
small-scale entrepre-
neurs, farmers, and
daily wage labourers. It
is the duty of the gov-
ernment to give jobs to
its citizens,” said MP
Rahul Gandhi.
He further highlight-
ed that the “UPA govt
was giving Rs 72000
crores as the debt relief
to the common people.
But today Modi govt is
keeping its friendship
only with rich people.
Financial aid of the
Central Government is
going to their hands.”
The Congress leader
also them that he would
stand with them to get
grievances resolved
and also gave assurance
that the opposition in
Kerala would stand
with the fishermen.
AICC General Secre-
tary KC Venugopal and
Kerala Opposition

New Delhi (PTI): The Supreme Court on Monday referred
to a five-judge Constitution bench a suo motu plea on
framing of guidelines on how and when potential mitigat-
ing circumstances be considered by courts during trial
in cases which entail the death penalty as the maximum
punishment. A bench headed by Chief Justice Uday
Umesh Lalit said it was of the opinion that this matter
required a hearing by a larger bench to have clarity and
uniform approach as to when an accused, facing death
penalty as maximum sentence, is required to be heard
with regard to mitigating circumstances. “Let matter be
placed before the CJI for orders in this regard,” Justice S
Ravindra Bhat said while pronouncing the verdict. A death
sentence is irreversible and every opportunity should
be given to the accused for consideration of mitigating
circumstances so that the court concludes that capital
punishment is not warranted, the bench had observed.

Islamabad (ANI): For-
mer Pakistan Prime
Minister and Pakistan
Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)
chairman Imran Khan
will address a public
gathering in Punjab
province on Monday, lo-
cal media reported.
As many as 1400 po-
licemen are deployed to
ensure the security of
the people and a plan
has been issued to en-
sure the smooth flow of
traffic throughout the
city, ARY News report-
ed. Preparations for the
gathering have been fi-
nalized and an 8-feet
wide and 20 feet tall
stage has been set up for
Imran Khan and other
party leaders.
On Sunday, former
PM Khan reiterated the
call for early elections
and said that the revo-
lution is knocking at
Pakistan’s doorstep
and a passage should be
created for political sta-
bility by organising
early elections, report-
ed ARY News.
Meanwhile, Pakistan
Prime Minister She-
hbaz Sharif and Paki-
stan Muslim League-N
supremo Nawaz Sharif
agreed to hold the next
general elections at the
stipulated time. The
Sharif brothers held a
meeting in London
where the two talked
about the next general
elections, Geo News re-
ported citing sources.
The brothers also
agreed that the present
coalition government
will complete its consti-
tutional term. The Paki-
stan PM, who is in Lon-
don to attend the state
funeral of late Queen
Elizabeth II, held a
three-and-a-half-hour
meeting with Nawaz
Sharif and discussed a
range of issues con-
cerning the country
.
Earlier this month,
while speaking during a
public rally in Faisal-
abad, the former Prime
Minister had called out
the government, saying
that it was delaying the
elections to appoint an
army chief of its own
and that if a “patriotic
chief of army staff
comes in, he will not
spare the incumbent
rulers.” Lamenting the
impact of floods in Pa-
kistan, the former
prime minister said
that the 2010 floods and
the current ones had
caused immense devas-
tation, particularly in
Sindh. He said that the
economic fallout of the
floods would be wit-
nessed during the win-
ter season. “Tell me (…)
do they have a solution?
Exports are falling,
loans are rising, remit-
tances are falling (…)
your capacity to give
loans is shrinking.”
“The economy is
shrinking while un-
employment is ris-
ing,” Khan main-
tained, adding that
such record high infla-
tion — which clocked
in at 27.3 per cent in
August — was “never
seen before in the his-
tory of Pakistan”.

TOP TWEETS STATE PCC UNITS SUPPORT FOR RaGa AS PRESIDENT MAY SILENCE DISSENTERS otification for Con- gress president’s election is expected on September 22. However, with one state unit after another reposing faith in Rahul Gandhi’s leader- ship, chances are that the much- promised election to the top post of the party will not happen. After Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat, Maharashtra unit of the party also backed Rahul as party chief. Tamil Nadu and Bihar units also want Rahul at the helm. Garnering support from state units is not the kind of reforms dissenting members of the party talked about but it is obvious that Rahul is set to take over from Sonia Gandhi. Rahul himself is busy with his Bharat Jodo Yatra in a bid to revive the party but his focus so far has been more on the south- ern states and not those where the party barely exists. He also skipped the north-eastern states and Gujarat. Especially intrigu- ing was his spending 18 days in the Communist ruled Kerala and only two days in Uttar Pradesh. N omen may not have got 33 per- cent reservation in legislatures yet but they will sure- ly have a day - September 22 - in the UP Assembly all to themselves. Only women members of the House will debate various issues, includ- ing those concerning their respective constituencies and women. If all goes well pre- siding officers for the two Houses will also be appointed for the day from among the women legislators. Since 33 percent reservation for wom- en is not happening any time soon, this unique experiment should be more than a conso- lation for them. The Opposi- tion planned to raise a storm during the five-day session over the recent rapes and murders in Lakhimpur Kheri but it could find itself run out of steam when women hold the charge. The Speaker Satish Maha- na said that the step was initi- ated as women legislators were hesitant to take part in discussions due to male dom- ination as that made them uncomfortable. Interestingly , of the 46 women legislators 30 belong to the BJP , 12 are from the Samajwadi Party and three are from Apna Dal. Con- gress has just one member. The debate on crime against women would be worth watching when the House as- sembles on September 22. While this novel idea should be welcomed, women deserve 33 percent represen- tation in the legislatures. It is a long-pending demand but political parties in reality baulk at the proposal while making promises. A Bill to grant women 33 percent rep- resentation in Parliament and state legislatures has been awaiting nod for the last over 25 years. Maybe, UP will also work towards that. A DAY FOR WOMEN MLAs IN UP HOUSE Only women members of the House will debate on various issues, including those concerning their respective constituencies and women. If all goes well, presiding officers for the two Houses will also be appointed for the day from among the women legislators W PUNCTUALITY CONSCIOUSNESS etter late than never!”, “I may get late but I’ll be there!” We often hear such expressions, but really which one of us likes to be kept waiting? Punctuality is a mark of consideration, orderliness and thoughtfulness. It means arriving or acting at the right time.Apunctualtrain/flight, apunctualpaymentorapunc- tual person shows up ‘on the dot.’Itrequiresgoodplanning andforesight, thoughattimes, one can be unavoidably late. The one who is habitually late seems to convey by his / her actions, “my time is more valuable than yours, so you can wait until I am ready .” Such a person appears not only disorganized and unreli- able but also somewhat egois- ticandinconsiderate.He/She loses the respect of others and is viewed as non-dependable. In nature, we observe from the smallest living things to the boundless universe, that all of them operate as if gov- erned by an invisible clock. Even farmers plant crops on time in order to get the best possible harvest. Some might feel that they do not like to live by the clock, having their every move gov- erned by it. Being punctual is not simply a matter of being controlled by the clock. It is about having other people’s interest and benefit in mind. It enables others to cooperate and much can be accom- plished as a result. Attitude towards time var- ies from one part of the world to another. To be punctual is more than a regional prefer- ence. It is a habit, as being hy- genic or polite is a habit. One is not born with them, they need to be cultivated. Most people may come from fami- lies and backgrounds where there is no concept of punctu- ality, or a need to coordinate one’s efforts with others. Questions to ask oneself, “Am I known to be a latecom- er? Am I easily distracted? Do I have difficulty in organ- izing myself? Do I keep work pending?” At times, there are hidden motives behind lateness – that of showing one’s own impor- tance, getting attention, or avoiding the need to wait for others. An even more subtle cause for lateness is to auto- matically create a last-minute rush to provide some kind of excitement.Byplanningweek- ends effectively , the monotony of routine work can be broken and one can feel recharged. When two parties agree to meet at a specific time and place, it is decent and proper for them to be punctual. But those who constantly make others wait steal their time. If oneisregularlylateforap- pointments, advance planning helps in cutting non-essential time wasters and prevents one from overbooking one’s sched- ule.Thishelptoavoidunneces- sary stress for oneself and oth- ers. Aiming to arrive early al- lows for unexpected circum- stances such as traffic conges- tion or bad weather. How can one cope with family members and associ- ates who are often late? Such ones can be reminded in ad- vance. An honest talk about the problem with them can be helpful. Also, accepting their lateness as a fact of life, one can develop strategies to cope with it effectively . For instance, working with those who have an easygoing approach to put off things un- til “tomorrow”, we must be careful not to lose mutual trust and confidence in the interest of productivity . Rath- er than taking out frustra- tion,kindnessmusttakeprec- edence over efficiency . Antici- pating beforehand the need to wait, can prepare us to keep other tasks handy . In some cases, one may avoid includ- ing latecomers in important plans to maintain peace. Timing every activity leads to saving extra time. An extra ten minutes each morning, or a half hour in the evening or just a few minutes here and there during the day , can be a personal reward. Punctuality indicates com- petence. It reflects being in control of one’s life. It also shows dependability. Such persons are appreciated and respected for keeping their word. Organizations value those who arrive on time and meet deadlines. They are re- warded with higher salary and greater trust. Being punctual demon- strates reliability, diligence and trust worthiness – skills that show professionalism. Punctual and prompt per- sons impart confidence in others. They remain calm and get more done from oth- ers. When punctuality be- comes a habit, one does not need to dash frantically from one thing to another. “Do you love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of,” said a philosopher. With a right mind-set, self control and personal discipline – one can be punctuality conscious!
