Faisal Abidi discusses the impact of robocall spam on businesses. He notes that while robocalls can be used legally for things like appointments and alerts, illegal spam robocalls are common and can cost businesses money by reducing employee productivity and defrauding them. The rise of spam calls has made many customers reluctant to answer unknown numbers. Abidi recommends businesses use call blocking systems and apps to reduce disruptions from automated spam calls while still receiving important calls.

4. ★ Robocalls are phone calls that play a taped audio message (also known as
automated calls). Autodialer computer programs, which use predictive
dialing, typically start these calls.
★ The preset message starts playing automatically as soon as the incoming call
is answered. Numerous robocall variants have a practical use.
★ Robocalls enable businesses to send critical information quickly, effectively,
and automatically in various situations, including appointment reminders,
emergency alerts, and school closure notices.
★ More than often, the robocalls are used to carry out fraudulent activities,
highlighted the RNF Technologies’ co-founder, Faisal Abidi.
6. When asked if robocalls are legal, Faisal Abidi took a different approach to
distinguish between spam and genuine use. Below points include some of his
conclusions:
★ Unless a business has your express written consent to call you this way, a robocall
trying to sell you something is forbidden and is considered spam, says Faisal Abidi.
★ The business cannot force you to consent to the calls to purchase a good or service;
rather, it must be apparent that it is asking for your permission before using robocalls to
contact you.
★ In other words, sales representatives require your explicit consent before attempting to
offer you anything via automated, prerecorded communications.
★ Nevertheless, there are several exceptions. For instance, it is not legally necessary for
political campaigns, charitable organizations soliciting donations, debt collection
agencies, or healthcare providers to obtain your consent before contacting you.
★ Additionally, calls made only for informative purposes without any request for money
are also permitted, which assists the marketing expert and co-founder of RNF
Technologies, Faisal Abidi, in differentiating the scam and genuine use of a robocall.
8. ★ Talking of the scam, co-founder of RNF Technologies Faisal Abidi says that these
calls can cost your company a lot of money since it takes workers 23 minutes to
recover and refocus after a single interruption and because they often make up for
them by doing hurried, less-accurate work.
★ However, robocalls are also having a very negative impact on how customers react
to incoming calls, in addition to reducing productivity and defrauding businesses of
cash or sensitive information.
★ Faisal Abidi adds that due to the rising fraud, 26% of call recipients struggle to
discern between automated calls and actual human callers instantly, and around
94% of individuals are reluctant to answer unknown calls.
10. Faisal Abidi assisted through two of the most common robocall spam prevalent in the
business world:-
● Caller ID Spoofing:
Spoofing is stealing an honest company's caller ID and using it to pretend to be that
company.
● Neighbor Spoofing:
An extension of classic spoofing is when con artists duplicate a company's local phone
number's initial few digits to deceive its staff or clients into answering scam calls.
12. ★ Businesses have comparable alternatives to consumers if they wish to stop or
restrict inbound robocalls.
★ For starters, they cannot answer unknown calls, which still distracts them from
their job and may lead to issues when crucial inbound calls fail to offer caller ID
information or are mistakenly marked as fraudulent.
★ Additionally, businesses may use call-blocking phone systems or third-party
applications to intercept automated calls and stop them from creating
distractions.
★ This may be a good solution if you use mobile devices for business calls. Android
and iPhone both have settings to block cell-phones automatically from receiving
questionable calls.
Here are several ways you can help ensure that your calls are getting through to
your customers and you are far away from robocall spam, suggests Faisal Abidi:
This presentation is concluded after having a conversation with RNF Technologies’ co-founder Faisal Abidi about the robocall scam. He highlighted the impact these robocall frauds can have on a business and what can be done to fight such spam.
