At the moment, I want to call it Classified as it gives a feeling of mystery and I wanted to change
the name up from last year as the name “Surreal” is quite boring as you cannot link much to that
word, whereas when it came to Classified you can links many things to it including Confidential
and restricted which doesn’t limit the number of things which I could make. I think that this will stay
the name for the clothing and fanzine of work because this is something which I can get behind
unlike the 1st year FMP when I named it “Surreal”. A brand which have inspired this would be TGF
who are a collective of two people who from time to time released clothing which they themselves
would wear and they will only release it when they feel it’s right and of the best possible quality
because they want the customer to have something which they can wear day in day out for many
years.
Main area of activity:
The two main things which I will work in will be graphic design and photography because I will be
making clothing and a fanzine, and with the photography, I will be doing it a lot more than design
because this is the main focus for my work because it is simpler than creating many different
designs. Also, this is something which I am going to have to work on as I am not amazing at
photography, so I will have to learn the ins and outs of the camera so that I get the best possible
outcomes. The style of booklet style FMP I will be making has been inspired by Virgil Abloh’s
“textbook” which is very simple and basic but I will try and do something different by choosing one
theme and then make everything in it around it.
Rationale:
Throughout the 2 years of this course I have products which include clothing, fanzine and also
client work, and skills which I have learnt through these projects would have to be the use of
InDesign as this is one thing which I have never heard of before and this will change my ability to
make posters and pamphlets, which will be very good for this project. When it came to FMP for the
1st year I learnt how to make designs for clothing on Photoshop and also photography which I am
not very good at which this project will further my abilities until university, I will use the ability of
InDesign for my FMP because I will need to make sure that I get everything it the right layout with
both the text and photos. My FMP from last year will have a direct impact on this work because I
will try and sway away from the kind of clothing it did and also the publishing side because I made
posters which didn’t look very professional as this was the first time I had ever made something of
this level, and also I will make designs which are more detailed and also less childish and more
towards the high-end look. In these years, I have been influenced my many different artists and in
the 2nd year someone who I have really strived to work like would have to be Virgil Abloh who is
out there and different to the rest of the industry, he is well known for his clothing style and
portraying his work to his audience in strange ways. He has helped in both years so far as with the
first year I used some of his work for my research in my FMP because his work is superb.
Project Concept:
The Concept for this project would have to be a clothing brand and also a fashion photography
booklet which I will be making through both Photoshop and InDesign. The Fashion photography
booklet will be full of different styles of clothing varying from genre to genre including urban
clothing to vintage clothing as I don’t want to have a select style as I don’t know that many people
who fit into an individual group, and with their attire I will try and find where to buy these articles of

clothing and label them in the booklet because I want to still get their brand out there because I will
be using their clothing without permission, but I think if I decided to show their clothing it will give
me the ability to have whatever I want in it. As well as the booklet with the graphic designing it will
vary it the type of designs I make for both the clothing and the booklet because as with the name
Classified it will be themed around being secretive and also mysterious as I think that the designs
which I could make would be very different from last year. Also, the colour of clothing I think I want
to change completely because I will go with two main colours being black and yellow because it
has similarities to police tape which is used around crime scenes because they are confidential. I
will need to research different photographers and fashion designers as these are the main people
who I will need look at because they will help me chose the right designs and colours and also the
style of photography I want to go down. Something which I will have to make sure that Define in
this project would have to be my ability to create something outstanding, a way of doing this would
be the type of photography style which I will be using, I am thinking of street photography which is
mainly black and white but has the odd one which is full colour which would contrast the colour
scheme which I have thought of using, also I have said about making it a booklet but I think I will
be making it more of a portfolio style because I will have minimal text on the pages with the photo
taking up the entire page nearly, finally something else which I have thought of would be using a
cartoony look to some of the images by adding graphic designs to the photo by the way of getting
rid of the appearance of the model which will help me in the way of permission of using the image
because if they didn’t like their appearance I could easily get rid of their face with coloured shapes.
I got the inspiration to do this from Instagram as there is a brand which I don’t know the name of
which does this to hide the identity of their models.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
To evaluate my work I will initially start with a weekly production diary which I will go over each
week in detail during the planning and research process and then once we have moved on to the
production we will have to start talking about what we do each individual day and then maybe a
brief overview for the entire week, when it comes to evaluating my work I will have to compare my
work to existing products as I want to know what I could do to improve my work because I can
change my work whether or not I think it is up to standard. As well one thing which I want do would
have to be get peer feedback and also publish my work out there so that I get feedback from
people I don’t know, because this will give me things which they enjoy and then things which need
improving so that it would improve my grade, also by having the ability to accept peer feedback it
will really help my career in this industry because I will know how to work to criticism because I
won’t make amazing products all the time. For example, in university the criticism which I will get
will more than likely be harsher as they need to make sure that you work to a standard which they
are accepting.

Week Tasks to be Completed: Specific Tasks
1 Pre-production  I will go through different stages in my work for
my research because I need to talk about things
which will really help my work throughout the next
17 weeks and also with the proposal I need to
talk about the things which I hope to make for my
FMP.
2 Pre-production  For the primary research I am going to be
collecting data about different clothing brands
and fashion booklet and taking tips from them so
that I have the best outcome of my FMP.
3 Pre-production  In this week I will go through how I will come
around to making these things and how I make
use of them to the best of my ability
4 Pre-production  During the experimentation process I will be
going through different ideas such as
photography and learning different angles and
shots which would help my final piece, also I will
be learning different processes on photoshop
which will work with my photography and the
leaflet style clothing booklet.
5 Pre-production  To experiment in the second week I will work with
things which I have previously done such as wrap
art and making sure that I can do it down to a t,
so that I make it sure that it looks as good as
possible.

6 Pre-production  In the pre-production section of my FMP I will be
coming up with my final ideas for designs to
make in production such as clothing and booklet.
Also I will need to make a small copy for subjects
which I could mention such as names of brands
and prices. And also finding people to model for
me.
7 Pre-production  During this time period of time I will be finding
what I need to include in my work, such as the
location, models and the software’s and colours
schemes which I will be using throughout the up
and coming 7 weeks.
8 Production  To start the production, I will begin with the
simplest things which would include collecting
photos, which will be one of the most time-
consuming parts of my FMP.
9 Production  Second week of production will consist of making
more designs for my fanzine/booklet, I will
probably focus on getting a theme for my work.
10 Production  The third week will be similar to the second but I
will try and make sure that I get more
photographs so that I have something to do
throughout the days in the week so I don’t get
stuck twiddling my fingers.
11 Production  For the draft peer feedback, I will be collecting
feedback on what my peers like and dislike about
it and how they think I achieve something of a
greater standard, and as it is a draft it will be
something which I can change before the end of
my production.
12 Production  For the fourth week, I be making sure that I have
everything I need at this moment in time right
before we break up for half term.
13 Production  I will be getting photos for the first week back
since half term so that I have this week and the
next to edit them down into my booklet.
14 Production  For the final week, I will be going through my
work to find anything which I can improve before I
hand everything in.
15 Evaluation  For the evaluation I will be collecting feedback
from my peers and people who I think will enjoy
what I have produced, by doing this I will be
working to their feedback and also it will help as I
will be doing a production diary each week until
production where I will be doing every day.
16 Evaluation  Second week of evaluation will consist of using
my production diary to talk about what went good
and wrong in my FMP and how if I had the added
time how I could improve it to get a better grade
or a better product.
17 Evaluation  For the presentation I will need to prepare over
the 17 weeks so that I am not nervous during it
as it will be something new to experience,
18 Moderation  During moderation there wont be much I can bar,
thinking of the show and also improvements I
could have made, also we may have this week
off.
19 Show Preparation  To prepare for the show I will be doing some

practice shows before so that I know what it will
be like at the actual show.
20 Show  For the show, I will be doing a 5-minute show
which I think may be a little difficult to talk about
my subject because all that it is are photos and
illustrations which I may be able to talk about for
a while but I don’t think at the moment I know
what exactly I need to talk about, also as this
counts towards my grade I will need to try my
hardest.
