2. Process
For my first game I did a simple
match 3 game. This was simple to
create and seemed like a good place
to start to practice my pixel art
before doing something more
complicated. The idea was that you
match three of the same coloured
shaped to get the level bar higher
and then when you fill the bar you
move onto the next level. I really
wanted something simple just to get
a general idea of what I wanted to
do. As for the audio I wanted
something really up beat for the
match game because that’s how
music within match games are and
how it seemed like it worked quite
well.
3. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you include in your
final product?
I personally don’t think I will be using much from this experiment
due to it being a match game and I want to do a side scroller
game personally. This was just a general idea for me to get used
to pixel art again and gain my confidence back with doing pixel
art which I think this has definitely done. I think this was
definitely a good start but its not what I want to do as my final
product. The music is a little too upbeat for what I want to do
within my game. I want to make something slightly more
unsettling and creepy.
4. Process
For this one I did something that
was more what I wanted to do. I
did a platform game which is a
similar thing to what I want to
make eventually. I did this to make
a general idea of what I wanted to
make. I wanted to practice making
something similar within a different
theme to give me a better idea of
what my final product will be. As
for the audio this was was more of
a scale to just go with the platform
game of jumping up and going
along the platform as it goes on,
this is what I wanted to make the
game more immersive and for the
music to link well with the general
idea of the game
5. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
• With this one I made something I had more of an intention of using
the style within my own work. I wanted to make something with a
different theme to give me a wide understanding of what a simple
version of what I wanted to make made. I wanted to make
something that was a good way to practice. I will be using this main
idea of this game. I want to make a similar idea to this just with
more detail and with the horror theme I wanted to have in my final
product. Again the music is a little upbeat but I like the general idea
of the scale to make it go along with the general idea and jumping
up of the game.
