PERSONAL PROFILE
Born 21 December 1980, I am married with two children aged 7 and 9. A holder of Bachelors’
Degree from the University of Malawi, Professional Diploma in Marketing with the Chartered
Institute of Marketing (CIM) of United Kingdom of whom I am an Associate Member, and
finalising my thesis for an Executive MBA program at the University of Malawi.

roles were branding, product and marketing development, sales and
distribution and systems management.
As a Systems and Projects Manager, I successfully rolled out an Enterprise
Resource Planning (ERP) software Sage Line 1000 and SAP R3 for both
Dairibord Malawi and Mulanje Peak Foods with web and GUI interface.

THE TIMES GROUP (FORMERLY BP&P)
Position: Chief Commercial Manager
With an aggressive commercial drive the group has turned a critical commercial corner to
command over 65% of the media in Malawi through the widest circulation newspapers and the
first ever national TV network in Malawi TV, my credits stand high within the group as one of
the biggest individual influence in the Topline.
Through Times Courier Services, my baby green project I have made national distribution and
logistics of airtime and mobile related products for TNM and Airtel an efficient process that has
addictively added valued to the business for the last four (4) years. Under my arms the courier
company has conveyed the most secure documents for National Bank, FMB, MSB, FDH
BanK and NBS Bank.
Championing the Multimillion Times Television Project which rolled our in January this year, I
have been behind the entire commercial and business strategy to roll out Malawis’ first
3. national privately owned TV station. This is yet another major milestone under my wings on
the commercial arm that has separated my skills from the wider base or sales and marketing
practioners in Malawi.
Commissioned with the group responsibility to oversee business and revenue growth for the
ten (10) group business units namely: Advertising, Digital Division, Circulation, Courier
Services, Commercial Printing, Packaging, Publishing, advertising agency, Television and
cooperate office I have over the years achieved the following:
• Turnover Growth: Organically grew the turnover for the business by an average of
12% Year-On-Year (above inflation) for the last six (7) years through media, FMCG
and Mass media servicing customised strategy that I developed and implemented.
Renewal of my employment contract is pure evidence of my capabilities to deliver.
• Innovations: A central player to the introduction of the company’s new innovations
with Times Television, Digital Division (media pioneers), Newspaper Innovations and
Times Courier Service as some of the highlights of my sales marketing career projects,

newspapers (Bnltimes), commercial Printing (Printpak), Courier Service (Times Courier
Services), publishing (Dzuka), advertising agency (Timescom) and a Television station (Times
TV) driven by the philosophy of market leadership. The company has in the last four years
grown its product portfolio, turn over and profitability positively impacting the entire group to
turn around its fortunes as a profitable venture.
In the last seven years at The Times Group I have progressed from junior Manager to
Executive Management and current sits of the EXCO for the group.

DAIRIBORD MALAWI LTD
Position: Projects Manager – IT/Financial Systems (March 06 – August 07)
Dairibord Malawi Ltd is a market leader in the dairy and beverages industry in Malawi owned
by Dairibord Holdings Limited, a Blue Chip with interest in manufacturing and marketing of
premium dairy and value added products. The company acquired Mulanje Peak Foods, a
subsidiary company that was canning fruits and vegetables. I had played a key role in
developing and implementing systems, and marketing strategies that transformed the
previously closed operation to a fully running canning operation since my appointment in April
2006 as Projects Manager/Systems Manager. I achieved the following during the period of
the New Project:
5. • Conceptualised the project strategic intent, laid down SMART objectives,
implementation calendar and resource provision which has seen the resurrection of
the operation in July 2006.
• Team member of the Project Marketing Team involved in product branding,
development of SKUs, and formulating Market penetration and Development
strategies to envisage and achieve a month on month sales growth of over 20% from
December 2006.
• Conceptualised, Proposed and implemented the MK35million Management
Information Systems (MIS) project for Dairibord Malawi and Subsidiary Mulanje Peak.
This was 100% computerised all the organisation’s operations. 98% of the project was
successfully completed before I left.
• Developed and Implemented Risk Management and Recovery initiative for Dairibord
and Subsidiary driven by ICT and Insurance/Assurance Policies that has seen the two
operations running at minimal business environmental threats.
• Formulated numerous policies in areas of ICT, Insurance, Conservators, vehicles and
welfare for Dairibord and Subsidiary that currently govern the operations of the two
business entities.
• Improved sales forecasting that assisted in ensuring product availability and effective
stock management that reduced product losses and pilferage through use of the ERP.
• Formulated and introduced systems and controls that helped to manage stocks and
cash in all sales depots for Dairibord and Subsidiary that had pilferage challenges
Position: National Distribution Manager (April 05 – March 06)
A proven success record propelled me up the ladder becoming the youngest executive
manager in the diverse fast moving consumer goods company reporting to a Managing
Director. I had 3 middle managers reporting to my office and:
• Developed and implemented sales and distribution initiatives for central and northern
region that grew region contribution to total sales from 23% to 31% in five months and
successfully reversed a declining sales trend.
• Developed branded vending agents and distributorships in strategic areas that facilitated
location convenience to our customers, availing our brands within customers reach.
• Fostered successful partnerships with key distributors that helped to drive distribution of
our imported brands significantly improving market penetration and market visibility.
• Improved brand visibility in the market, thus reducing stock outs through managing logistic
and distribution effectiveness.

Position: National Marketing and Distribution Manager (Sep 04 – March 05)
I had a successful track record as a Trainee Sales and Marketing Manager (Blantyre) in
contributing to the turning around the once loss making to a profit making organisation hence
the promotion to National Marketing and Distribution Manager where I:
6. • Grew market share from 40% to 87% by 2005 in a highly competitive market through an
aggressive selling drive and management of product quality that gained consumer
confidence.
• Turned around a poor customer satisfaction level from a miserable 60% to 90% through
well cast Quality Management Systems ISO 9001 and training and mentoring program I
formulated.
• Focused on promoting the Yogie Brand that had a superior margin, low volumes, painted
as problem child, and grew its contribution from 7% to 25% through focusing marketing
effort in Primary Schools and convenience shops and relevant promotions. This also saw
the growth in turnover by 43% and Yogie brand awareness by 79%.
• Set up and developed distribution agencies in key markets that helped to improve market
presence, availed the brand within consumer reach and eliminated stock outs
• Ran successful consumer and trade promotions that enabled us to penetrate the highly
competitive Middle and Upper class rural markets, forcing Suncrest to retreat to many rural
markets
• Successfully penetrated and developed new markets that contributed a 20% growth to
sales volumes
• Improved delivery efficiencies and reduced distribution costs by 47% while improving
productivities by 65%.
• Cultivated good trade relations and customer service gaps dropped from 40% to 15%.

My career in Marketing started here. Reporting to the Managing Director, 16 Sales personnel
were accountable to me functionally. Main highlights are:
• Initiated, conceptualised and ran the Yogie Sport Sponsorship to Fame; the largest
corroborated sports talent searching programme the country has ever seen.
• Repositioned the Dairibord generic brands through targeted marketing efforts, premium
differential pricing, and re-branding based on the research findings I commissioned.
• Part of the marketing team that developed and popularised the “Chambiko with Nsima…”
brand campaign that excited the market that saw growth in sales volumes by 17%
• Ran the organisation’s retail development initiatives that assisted customers to set up
retail outlets that met our standards and enhanced brand image
• Successfully penetrated up-market hospitality segment with the king size packs for Juices,
Yoghurt and Ice Cream, an initiative that had positive rub on effects to the brand image
and sales volumes through good trade relations.
