2. The Presidential address of Allama Iqbal in
Allahabad in 1930 is considered to be one of the
most important speeches in the history of the
Indian subcontinent. In this speech, Iqbal outlined
his vision for a separate Muslim state in
northwestern India, which would later become
Pakistan.

3. 1: Islam and Nationalism (پرستی قوم اور )اسالم
•Iqbal argues( دلیل

ہے ) that Islam is not simply a religion, but also a social
and political system.
•He says that Islam is based on the principle of unity, and that this principle is
essential for the well-being of any nation.
•He argues that the Muslims of India are a nation, and that they need to have
their own state in order to be able to live according to their own principles.

•Iqbal argues that it is impossible to create a united Indian nation because the
Hindus and Muslims are two separate nations.
•He says that the Hindus and Muslims have different cultures, religions, and
social systems.

•Iqbal proposes that the Muslims of India should have their own state within
India.
•He says that this state should be formed by uniting the Muslim-majority
provinces of Punjab, Sindh, the North-West Frontier Province, and Baluchistan.
•He argues that this state would be able to live in peace with the rest of India.
