This presentation document show how consumers use technology to impact their lives. This slide show a short history of how internet access changes over time. The history covers from 1957 up to rent years and one thing we see here is that access increases as accessibility to devices and internet speed increases. Today we have over 3 billion of people in the worth that have access to the internet.

1. 1957- Sputnik launched global communication
2. 1976: Queen Elizabeth sent the first email
3. 1989- Dial-up internet access available
4. 1995- Dotcom bubble begins with the launch of internet
explorer (Amazon/eBay launched)
5. 1998 - Google goes live
6. 2000- Dotcom bubble burst (Wireless internet
available)
7. 2005- 1 Billion internet users worldwide
8. 2007- IPhone Launched
9. 2014- 3 Billion internet users worldwide

Increase in internet use correlates to high speed internet
access and access to smart devices.

As of June 2017, 51% of the world's
population is on the internet. In 2015, the
International Telecommunication Union
estimated about 3.2 billion people, or almost
half of the world's population, would be
online by the end of the year. Of them, about
2 billion would be from developing countries,
including 89 million from developing
countries

StatCounter Global Stats finds
that mobile and tablet devices
accounted for 51.3% of internet
usage worldwide in October
2017 compared to 48.7% by
desktop.

• The 25-34 (millennial) age group watches the most
online videos and men spend 40% more time watching
videos on the internet than women.
