4. Wiraga ( Windu Pertama 0-8 tahun)
Masa ini merupakan periode yang amat penting bagi perkembangan badan
(jasmani) dan panca indera. Dengan modal perkembangan fisik yang sedang
meningkat pesat seharusnya anak-anak memiliki peluang setiap hari untuk
menggunakan otot-otot besar, termasuk berlari, melompat, dan belajar
keseimbangan. Kegiatan di luar ruangan harus lebih banyak dilakukan sehingga
anak-anak bisa dengan bebas mengekspresikan dirinya sendiri.

5. Wiraga-Wirama (Windu Kedua 8-16 tahun)
Masa ini merupakan periode perkembangan untuk daya-daya jiwa terutama
pikiran anak, namun pertumbuhan perasaan masih amat kurang. Geraknya
masih banyak tetapi sudah mulai berirama. Dengan karakteristik tersebut,
maka praktik yang disarankan adalah pengajaran yang mempergunakan
pikiran.

6. Wirama (Windu Ketiga 17-24 tahun)
Anak-anak muda pada masa Wirama sudah lebih “berirama”, bisa mengatur
dirinya sendiri, dan memahami potensi diri. Masa ini juga merupakan masa
berolah budi dalam alam kemasyarakatan (menyesuaikan diri dengan
masyarakat) di mana anak mengambil bagian sesuai dengan cita-cita
hidupnya.

Teori Ki Hajar Dewantara
Ki Hajar menjabarkan pendidikan harus didasarkan pada pola pengasuhan dengan
memberi contoh teladan, semangat, dan mendorong untuk berkembang. Teori Erik
Erikson dengan perkembangan social dan kognitifnya terjadi bersamaan dan tidak
dapat dipisahkan. Orang dewasa, terutama orang tua dan guru bagian penting dari
lingkungan yang memegang peran penting dalam membantu dan menghalangi
anak mengembangkan kepribadian dan kemampuan kognitifnya.
Begitu juga cara orang tua dan guru berinteraksi dan mengasuh anak
membantu menentukan perkembangan emosi dan kognisi anak. Kontribusi Erikson
terhadap pendidikan adalah permainan mendukung perkembangan sosial dan
kognisi anak, emosi memainkan peran yang sama besar dengan kognisi dalam
perkembangan anak dan semua anak memerlukan kasih sayang, perhatian dan
pendidikan yang konsisten. Berbagai krisis utama dalam tahapan perkembangan yang
diungkapkan oleh Erik Erikson nantinya akan berpengaruh pada pembentuk karakter
anak.
