2. PERSONALIDAD
En primer lugar cuando hablamos de personalidad, nos estamos
refiriendo a un patrón de pensamientos, sentimientos y conductas que
son únicas y singulares en un sujeto, es decir, a aquellas
características que persisten a lo largo del tiempo y a través de las
situaciones que nos hacen distinguirnos de los demás y que nos llevan
a relacionarnos con el entorno. No se trata de algo individual, sino de
un todo integrado con componentes biológicos y sociales, innatos y
aprendidos (Phares, 1988; López, Lafuente y García, 2007).
3. El problema surge cuando este patrón de funcionamiento
se torna fijo, inflexible, persistente y desadaptativo,
provoca en la persona malestar clínicamente significativo,
y/o deterioro social, laboral o de otras áreas importantes
de la actividad del individuo, en este caso pasaríamos a
hablar de un Trastorno de la Personalidad.
4. La psicopatología comparte con otras ciencias del comportamiento (como antropología,
criminología, sociología, psiquiatría, entre otras) un interés básico en la comprensión de la
conducta humana anormal, desviada, criminal y delincuencial. Se encarga de estudiar y
analizar los comportamientos desviados realizados por un individuo; prosigue con la
comparación de la fragmentación de su actividad psíquica y las propiedades de la
personalidad; continúa con la observación y experimentación científica de la fenomenología de
los trastornos de la conducta y de la personalidad del sujeto.
Por otro lado, la psicopatología criminal es el estudio del delito realizado por una persona
considerada como paciente de enfermedad mental, entendida en un sentido amplio. Se enfoca
en los criminales psíquicamente anormales, su forma de manifestarse, las causas psíquicas y
corporales, y las posibilidades de tratamiento físico y mental (Hikal, 2015).
5. La Psicopatología criminal se ocupa de los signos y
síntomas que constituyen la enfermedad mental,
dicotomizando y estudiando al hombre
delincuente en sus diversas funciones psíquicas
mediante el establecimiento de una serie de
categorías y reglas generales. Equivale, pues, a la
semiología (símbolos y signos) de la Psiquiatría

8. A la Criminología interesa investigar no la incidencia de
estos trastornos y alteraciones en la imputabilidad del
sujeto, o en su capacidad civil, sino la criminogenésis de
los mismos, esto es, la relevancia etiológica que puedan
tener en la génesis del comportamiento delictivo.
