2. The Temple of Holy
Sava is the biggest
orthodocsal temple
in Balkan. It`s situated
on the norteastern side of
tha Holly Sava square in
the municipality of Vračar.
The Temple is built on the
place where Kodža Sinan
paša 1594. burnt the relics
of Holy Sava, the founder
of the Serbian orthodocsal
church.
3. The Bridge on Ada
Is the road and rail bridge
that connects belgrade
municipalities Čukarica
and New Belgrade.
Bridge is planned to be
the part of the inner
highway halfring that
connects New Belgrade
and Zvezdara.
4. Mouth River Sava to
Danube
is the place where river Sava flows.
Into river Danube. It is in the center
of Belgrade between New Belgrade
and the rooth of the Belgrade
fortress , The Nebojša tower.
Usually, it`s called simple „Ušće“.
Sava arrives to Belgrade under the
Branko`s bridge and flows into the
right side of the Danube that goes
arround The Great War Isle. Its also
the place where Sava ends it`s flow
and becomes Danube.
5. Eastern gate of
Belgrade
is unoficial name for the
three skyscraper which
are situated at the
beginning of the Zvezdara
municipalitу. Real name is
Rudo. That name was
given to the eastern gate
of Belgrade by Dragoljub
Mićović, an architect .
6. Monument to
the unknown
soldier on Avala
on the mountin Avala,
near Belgrade, there is
the monumental
Mausoleum. This
mauseoleum was made
by Ivan Meštrović,
famose sculptor from
the Kingdom of Serbia ,
Croatia and Slovenia.
7. Monument „The
Victor“
is the name of the
monument made in
1928. and situated
in the Belgrade
fortress during the
celebration of 10th
anniversery of the
breakthrough of the
Thessaloniki front.
8. Kalemegdan
is the biggest Belgrade park.
At the same time it`s the most
important culture- historical
complex. The central place of it
is the fortress that dominates
beyond the mouth of river Sava
to Denube.Kalemegdan is the
name of the wide plato
arround the fortress which was
during the 19th century
transformed into the Park. The
name derives from the word
„kale“- fortress and megdan- „
the place to fight.“Turks called
Belgrade „ fićir- bajir“, which
means- „ the berg for
thinking“.
9. Holy mother church
Ružica ( little rose)
is the church situated in the
northeastern part of the
lower part of the Belgrade
fortress, below the Zindan-
gate. During the princ despot
Stefan Lazarević reighn there
was an old church of the same
name robbed and destroyed
by the Turks during the seige
of Belgarde 1521.
10. Princ Mihailo Street
is the pedestrial zone
and the trading center
protected by the law
as one of the oldest
and most valuable
monument ambient
with many buildings
made during the late
19th century.
11. King Petar street
isone of the oldest
Belgrade streets. There are
asumptions that there was
the Roman forum, basilicas
and terms from the first nd
second century A.D.During
the 19th century there was
the first offiicial drugstore
in Belgrade and the first
city hotel „At deers“ Today
in this street is situated the
Museum of the Serbian
orthodcsal church, The
Cathedral.
12. Nikola Pašićs squer
is the central city
square. It`s situated
between The Boulevard
of king Alexander and
The Dečany street in the
municipality of the Old
city.
13. The Vuk Karadžić
monument
at the eastern corner of the
Ruzvelt`s street and the
Boulevard of king Alexander.
Vuk Karadžić was the collector
of our national treasure and he
reformed our language.
14. Avala tower
is situated on the mountin Avala.
Originaly built in the 1965. it was
destroyed in the NATO bombing
of The Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia April 29.th 1999. After
the 3 years of the reperation,
Avala Tower was built on April
21.th of 2010. The tower was
one of the recognizable amblems
of Belgrade- travellers who
would reach the tower knew
they are near Belgrade.
15. Railway Station
is the main belgrade`s
railway station. The
building was made
between 1883- 1885.
after plans by the
architect Dragutin
Milutinović and has the
status of the monument
of the great cultural
emportance.
16. Musdeum of the
aircraft
was founded in 1957. as the part of
the Command of the war aircraft.
Since 1989. is situated in the
modern building, made after
the plan by the architect Ivan
Štraus, constructed from the
glass and concret. The
gouverment pronounced the
building the monument of
culture.
17. Nikola Tesla
Airport
is the biggest airport in
Serbia. Airport is also an
important trafic centar of
the city. Named upon the
famous scientist, it`s
situated 12km from the
centre of the Belgrade in
the municipality of Surčin.
While landing, visitors could
see the municipalities of
Čukarica and New Belgrade.
19. National Assambly
is the highest representative of
the constitutional and
legislative authorities in our
country. It` s unicameral and
consists of 250 MP elected on
the free and secret
elections on the period of
four years.
