My synopsis
• My idea for my film is to show that everything can change with a
matter of time however we do have 2 characters which show both
poor and rich side of the characters and how they will collide will
make sense why they will fall out eventually
Name of the Film
• There was a lot of variety of names such as indulgence mercy pity
and the one I chose forgiveness I'm going to chose this name because
I think it will suit my film the best as theres a forgiveness act.
Target Audience
• My target audience are 15-20 the reason is 15+ is because I want to
show to younger generation what a second chance is and how to use
it and what it can cost you. I think 15-20 is appropriate because they
are still young and I want to ingrate that idea in their heads pass the
message and because they are younger they would take it better in a
way.
• This film is for people that perhaps have trust issues because of
situation like that people change because of money.
Genre
• I have chosen Realism because I want to project reality create a
virtual window from where people see what others do or what
money cant buy you which is trust.
• Showing how money can change a person.
BBFC
• I think my film will receive a 15 or a 12A because it doesn’t have any of the
• Dangerous behaviour
• Discrimination
• Drugs
• Language
• Nudity
• Sex
• Threat and horror
• Violence
• The only reason I think ill get the 15 is because of the Discrimination been there perhaps
discriminating the poor from the rich.
Release date.
• My film will be out by Easter Holidays this gives me enough time to
finish editing it and make the trailer. 4th of April.
• The reason I chose 04/04/20 with the idea of representing both of
the characters so the reason is the same date and moth is because it
represents that both characters are human and they are equal when
its not up to wealth. Shows that they are equal and the 20 is the year
of publishing but also is the only different number on there which
perhaps it could mean change.
Primary research
• 21 people are in the age between 16-20 learned this by taking my short survey.
•
• 3 OUT 5 WARE FEELING ODD AFTER BEING ON THEIR PHONE
• That shows that people spend a lot of time on their phone
• 4-6 PEOPLE HAVE Spend MORE THAN 8H ON THEIR PHONES this shows that people spend a lot of time on their phone.
• ALL PEOPLE ASKED ATTEND COLLEGE
• I learned that because of the feedback I got
• 10-21 USE THEIR PHONE FOR NETFLIX this shows that many people watch tv series on their phone
•
• 17-21 USE THEIR PHONE FOR SPOTIFY-YOUTUBE this shows how much people watch and listen to Spotify.
• By gathering these results I can find out what marketing strategies I want to use.
Secondary research
• I think that there is a lot of great films out there following the same strategy but I also think that there is
difference between what I want to achieve and what they have achieved lots of the time films like that are
based in crime, where my film is based on whole world flipping around for both of my characters.
• I have created 3 posters and one trailer
• For example a film called Shifty who's director Eran Creevy
I have looked into the box office 244,579GBP
And the budget 100,000 GBP
Background
London is home to a young crack cocaine dealer named Shifty. His family are about to disown him because of
his lifestyle, and he is being stalked by a customer who wants to score at all costs. Can he prevent what is all set
to be a violent and dangerous future?
Contrast between Early social Realism Film
and Modern Social Realism film Trailers

•
Social Realism Companies
• The Crown Film Unit was an organisation withing the British
Governments ministery of information during World War II.
• Another well know Woodfall is the behind the many of the films that
transformed the British cinema into of the most dynamic in the world.
• And Film4 Productions is a British film production company owned by
channel 4. The company has been responsible for backing a large
number of films made in the United Kingdom.
What's already out there ?
• Passport to Pimico
• And This is England
The p
Hows this is England Exhibited ?
• This is England had limited distributions and was on approximtly 150
digital screen network screens in the uk in its 4th week.
• I thinks this is simply due to the film being British as British filmsare
highly underrated across worldwide cinema. The film also had no star
marketing and at low production cost at 1.2 million. However at the
box officer it made 5,05800 the box office total makes this is England
highly successful as regardless of the low budget. It recived 93% on
Tomato meter and 89% on Audience
Ideas and planning
• I have decided to use my own camera for the film and I have dicided to use natural
lighting however there is lighting used in the inside scenes.
• However the lighting used in the inside scenes aren’t anything special.
• Locations Sunderland College and City Centre Sunderland date and time ware needed
and we had to make sure everyone is available at the certain date and time to keep the
movie shooting consistent this was discussed previously in the preproduction schedule
and meetings ect.
• The message my campaign is trying to bring is that the world isn’t fair. Yes its that simple
the world isn’t fair.
• I have made teaser posters for my film which allow the viewers to create a base of what
is happening in the film each poster will try to create different mood.
• Each poster will be posted in different time gaps.
This is my posters
and online page.
This is my Teaser poster for my film this poster doesn’t give too much
information out to the viewer it lets them decide what could happen.
I have used a pack called cage so I make that look between the
characters the effect has been used more on the left side more so it
shows the difference between the characters.
Poster Feedback
• I have asked group of friends of what they think about my poster and
they have give me a positive feedback on how to fix it for the future I
have received fair use of how to improve it for the future people said
that they like how the characters look glitched in a way.
• NEXT SLIDE
Comments about my posters
How I used effects
• I have used dull colours and text to make the poster as good as
possible however I used the quick selection tool to cut the characters
body's/faces out of the main frame and insert them into a one whole
image after that I have overlap the first layer so it looks like the other
two images behind the main layer. After that I have manipulated the
images with a glitch effect that is shown on the final design however
to achieve this I needed to make different layers and make different
kind of effects to achieve this final design. The glitches on the poster
and the different faces show that people could be the same but
different at the same time. This took a lot of cropping and pasting and
colour grading tools to achieve it. So as to the rest of the poster same
procedure
Styles of writing
The title for my film is Forgiveness and the genre is realism the reason I
chose realism its because I felt that I'm capable of making the film just like I
wanted and passing the message just the way I feel its appropriate my target
audience are 17-36 this is appropriate because I want people seeing my film
to notice how life could change for people in a matter of seconds.
I will be making 3 posters and a trailer following with the online Instagram
page.
The final video will be rendered at the right for the user quality using Adobe
Premiere pro however this will take time depending on how long the film is
and how responsive the program is.
Production Log
• 13/01/2020 I'm going to start my PowerPoint
• 22/01/2020 I have finished my introduction task and have made a
survey.
• 23/01/2020 is when I'm going to give my survey out to the public.
• 24/01/2020 is when I started constructing my PowerPoint and video
editing
How am I trying to persuade the target
audience
• Usually adverts persuade people by making a bold claim advertises
use persuasive language to attract audiences In one of my posters I
have used in red letters the following Forgiveness takes a life time
forgetting takes a second. This is a pretty powerful message but
however is not designed for everyone to understand. What I mean by
that is some people might not understand it. The use of slogans and
taglines are persuasive techniques as they give more information to
the audience about the narrative and at the same time it creates a
sense of mystory.
So how am I trying to make people watch my
films ?
• Simply created 3 posters the first is a picture of a character followed
by 2 other pictures on the background with the same person but
different face. This instantly creates a sign of mystery as why there's 2
people of the same people but with a different face. The use of the
plan poster I didn’t really have any tag lines or slogans but in my
opinion the poster itself creates enough attention for people to start
looking forward to the film. So for my first posters the Name of the
film ‘’Forgiveness ‘’ is written above the character which suggests that
the title is linked to him. The character is located right in the middle
of the page which immediately draws the audiences attention to her
which implies that he's the main character in the film.
The use of images
• For the first poster I have used my own image of the character edited on photoshop and this is what has turned out as
• I used a glitch effect which is not downloadable but I created using the WAVE effect on phot shop. I got helped from this YouTube guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57GQ1rS0yU0&ab_channel=creatnprocess I
strictly followed his video tutorial. However this turned out differently that the video final this is because I mixed the effect in a different way. I got my own outcome that what the video has and im happy with that
because is shows that I didn’t fully copy someone else.
• For the second poster I got a Pnd money background
https://www.google.com/search?q=money+png&safe=active&rlz=1C1MSIM_enGB925GB925&sxsrf=ALeKk03d4zjY2NsFtuog_Wf3QUfmWE9z9A:1606221254994&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=XUP9ci8YlokYoM%25

link I have seen sorry about that
• I also have looked into a png suit
https://www.google.com/search?q=suit+png&safe=active&rlz=1C1MSIM_enGB925GB925&sxsrf=ALeKk00WvNNEb0froW1dRFkqK5fb5BSOLw:1606221663914&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=xGBWB3ztNNLbWM%25
2CZ7P5wQKKp-Y6HM%252C_&vet=1&usg=AI4_-kRy466CsKkkFuEtUBQLtzFC_RYA2g&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjO0tT9mZvtAhVCUcAKHSdSBb0Q9QF6BAgLEFg&biw=958&bih=933#imgrc=oNj5KZ6wnbNb8M another long link
• With the help of this two things I came with the idea of having the character in the middle and the money flying around behind him this is to represent the other side of the film. This posters is linked the first one as
you can perhaps recognise the second character behind the main character in the first poster. The reason for the money behind is to create the idea that the second character is more richer and successful that the one
from the first poster.
• For my final poster the one with the most writing effects lighting cuts ect. I have made the poster using the Paper Cut Out effect I however did read an article online of how to make it
https://www.domestika.org/en/blog/3900-how-to-make-a-paper-cut-out-effect-in-adobe-photoshop this was helpful to achieve the effect.
• What's this poster aiming to do? What I'm aiming to achieve with this poster is creating a and finalising the actual outcome of the film finally telling the audience the final story of the film without leeking to much
information just showing that both characters have 2 different backgrounds and that everything switches.
Manipulating the
images
• In here you can see that im changing
the
• Images lighting however too dark
didn’t suit because
• When its too dark its looks like a horror
film This isn’t what I want so the
outcome is different.
This is the cut effect one
here you can see that I
haven’t yet added the text
however this are all the
images I have used for the
actual print magazine.
Why is print ad good for my film
• I think print ad will be good for my film because I think it will be good
if audience perhaps revisit that ad more that ones perhaps that
advert gives people a bit of understanding of how the story is going to
for itself around the film. People might want to revisit the advert if
they want to watch the film again. Because if it was a digital or a tv
advert it wasn’t going to stay around on the telly for a long time.

Unit15 resubmission

  • 2. My synopsis • My idea for my film is to show that everything can change with a matter of time however we do have 2 characters which show both poor and rich side of the characters and how they will collide will make sense why they will fall out eventually
  • 3. Name of the Film • There was a lot of variety of names such as indulgence mercy pity and the one I chose forgiveness I'm going to chose this name because I think it will suit my film the best as theres a forgiveness act.
  • 4. Target Audience • My target audience are 15-20 the reason is 15+ is because I want to show to younger generation what a second chance is and how to use it and what it can cost you. I think 15-20 is appropriate because they are still young and I want to ingrate that idea in their heads pass the message and because they are younger they would take it better in a way. • This film is for people that perhaps have trust issues because of situation like that people change because of money.
  • 5. Genre • I have chosen Realism because I want to project reality create a virtual window from where people see what others do or what money cant buy you which is trust. • Showing how money can change a person.
  • 6. BBFC • I think my film will receive a 15 or a 12A because it doesn’t have any of the • Dangerous behaviour • Discrimination • Drugs • Language • Nudity • Sex • Threat and horror • Violence • The only reason I think ill get the 15 is because of the Discrimination been there perhaps discriminating the poor from the rich.
  • 7. Release date. • My film will be out by Easter Holidays this gives me enough time to finish editing it and make the trailer. 4th of April. • The reason I chose 04/04/20 with the idea of representing both of the characters so the reason is the same date and moth is because it represents that both characters are human and they are equal when its not up to wealth. Shows that they are equal and the 20 is the year of publishing but also is the only different number on there which perhaps it could mean change.
  • 8. Primary research • 21 people are in the age between 16-20 learned this by taking my short survey. • • 3 OUT 5 WARE FEELING ODD AFTER BEING ON THEIR PHONE • That shows that people spend a lot of time on their phone • 4-6 PEOPLE HAVE Spend MORE THAN 8H ON THEIR PHONES this shows that people spend a lot of time on their phone. • ALL PEOPLE ASKED ATTEND COLLEGE • I learned that because of the feedback I got • 10-21 USE THEIR PHONE FOR NETFLIX this shows that many people watch tv series on their phone • • 17-21 USE THEIR PHONE FOR SPOTIFY-YOUTUBE this shows how much people watch and listen to Spotify. • By gathering these results I can find out what marketing strategies I want to use.
  • 9. Secondary research • I think that there is a lot of great films out there following the same strategy but I also think that there is difference between what I want to achieve and what they have achieved lots of the time films like that are based in crime, where my film is based on whole world flipping around for both of my characters. • I have created 3 posters and one trailer • For example a film called Shifty who's director Eran Creevy I have looked into the box office 244,579GBP And the budget 100,000 GBP Background London is home to a young crack cocaine dealer named Shifty. His family are about to disown him because of his lifestyle, and he is being stalked by a customer who wants to score at all costs. Can he prevent what is all set to be a violent and dangerous future?
  • 10. Contrast between Early social Realism Film and Modern Social Realism film Trailers • Passport to pimico 1949 Trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kErQAo5qlds • This is England 2006 trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0jkv2bRFgQ&ab_channel=Blue Crayon77 •
  • 11. Social Realism Companies • The Crown Film Unit was an organisation withing the British Governments ministery of information during World War II. • Another well know Woodfall is the behind the many of the films that transformed the British cinema into of the most dynamic in the world. • And Film4 Productions is a British film production company owned by channel 4. The company has been responsible for backing a large number of films made in the United Kingdom.
  • 12. What's already out there ? • Passport to Pimico • And This is England The p
  • 13. Hows this is England Exhibited ? • This is England had limited distributions and was on approximtly 150 digital screen network screens in the uk in its 4th week. • I thinks this is simply due to the film being British as British filmsare highly underrated across worldwide cinema. The film also had no star marketing and at low production cost at 1.2 million. However at the box officer it made 5,05800 the box office total makes this is England highly successful as regardless of the low budget. It recived 93% on Tomato meter and 89% on Audience
  • 14. Ideas and planning • I have decided to use my own camera for the film and I have dicided to use natural lighting however there is lighting used in the inside scenes. • However the lighting used in the inside scenes aren’t anything special. • Locations Sunderland College and City Centre Sunderland date and time ware needed and we had to make sure everyone is available at the certain date and time to keep the movie shooting consistent this was discussed previously in the preproduction schedule and meetings ect. • The message my campaign is trying to bring is that the world isn’t fair. Yes its that simple the world isn’t fair. • I have made teaser posters for my film which allow the viewers to create a base of what is happening in the film each poster will try to create different mood. • Each poster will be posted in different time gaps.
  • 15. This is my posters and online page.
  • 16. This is my Teaser poster for my film this poster doesn’t give too much information out to the viewer it lets them decide what could happen. I have used a pack called cage so I make that look between the characters the effect has been used more on the left side more so it shows the difference between the characters.
  • 17. Poster Feedback • I have asked group of friends of what they think about my poster and they have give me a positive feedback on how to fix it for the future I have received fair use of how to improve it for the future people said that they like how the characters look glitched in a way. • NEXT SLIDE
  • 18. Comments about my posters
  • 19. How I used effects • I have used dull colours and text to make the poster as good as possible however I used the quick selection tool to cut the characters body's/faces out of the main frame and insert them into a one whole image after that I have overlap the first layer so it looks like the other two images behind the main layer. After that I have manipulated the images with a glitch effect that is shown on the final design however to achieve this I needed to make different layers and make different kind of effects to achieve this final design. The glitches on the poster and the different faces show that people could be the same but different at the same time. This took a lot of cropping and pasting and colour grading tools to achieve it. So as to the rest of the poster same procedure
  • 20. Styles of writing The title for my film is Forgiveness and the genre is realism the reason I chose realism its because I felt that I'm capable of making the film just like I wanted and passing the message just the way I feel its appropriate my target audience are 17-36 this is appropriate because I want people seeing my film to notice how life could change for people in a matter of seconds. I will be making 3 posters and a trailer following with the online Instagram page. The final video will be rendered at the right for the user quality using Adobe Premiere pro however this will take time depending on how long the film is and how responsive the program is.
  • 21. Production Log • 13/01/2020 I'm going to start my PowerPoint • 22/01/2020 I have finished my introduction task and have made a survey. • 23/01/2020 is when I'm going to give my survey out to the public. • 24/01/2020 is when I started constructing my PowerPoint and video editing
  • 22. How am I trying to persuade the target audience • Usually adverts persuade people by making a bold claim advertises use persuasive language to attract audiences In one of my posters I have used in red letters the following Forgiveness takes a life time forgetting takes a second. This is a pretty powerful message but however is not designed for everyone to understand. What I mean by that is some people might not understand it. The use of slogans and taglines are persuasive techniques as they give more information to the audience about the narrative and at the same time it creates a sense of mystory.
  • 23. So how am I trying to make people watch my films ? • Simply created 3 posters the first is a picture of a character followed by 2 other pictures on the background with the same person but different face. This instantly creates a sign of mystery as why there's 2 people of the same people but with a different face. The use of the plan poster I didn’t really have any tag lines or slogans but in my opinion the poster itself creates enough attention for people to start looking forward to the film. So for my first posters the Name of the film ‘’Forgiveness ‘’ is written above the character which suggests that the title is linked to him. The character is located right in the middle of the page which immediately draws the audiences attention to her which implies that he's the main character in the film.
  • 24. The use of images • For the first poster I have used my own image of the character edited on photoshop and this is what has turned out as • I used a glitch effect which is not downloadable but I created using the WAVE effect on phot shop. I got helped from this YouTube guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57GQ1rS0yU0&ab_channel=creatnprocess I strictly followed his video tutorial. However this turned out differently that the video final this is because I mixed the effect in a different way. I got my own outcome that what the video has and im happy with that because is shows that I didn’t fully copy someone else. • For the second poster I got a Pnd money background https://www.google.com/search?q=money+png&safe=active&rlz=1C1MSIM_enGB925GB925&sxsrf=ALeKk03d4zjY2NsFtuog_Wf3QUfmWE9z9A:1606221254994&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=XUP9ci8YlokYoM%25 2CBoTZA62mckQBZM%252C_&vet=1&usg=AI4_-kRPKebKifksv53VGEnhPVZTu5kLgQ&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi1mNa6mJvtAhVKZMAKHSipCM8Q9QF6BAgLEF4&biw=958&bih=933#imgrc=XUP9ci8YlokYoM that’s the longest link I have seen sorry about that • I also have looked into a png suit https://www.google.com/search?q=suit+png&safe=active&rlz=1C1MSIM_enGB925GB925&sxsrf=ALeKk00WvNNEb0froW1dRFkqK5fb5BSOLw:1606221663914&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=xGBWB3ztNNLbWM%25 2CZ7P5wQKKp-Y6HM%252C_&vet=1&usg=AI4_-kRy466CsKkkFuEtUBQLtzFC_RYA2g&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjO0tT9mZvtAhVCUcAKHSdSBb0Q9QF6BAgLEFg&biw=958&bih=933#imgrc=oNj5KZ6wnbNb8M another long link • With the help of this two things I came with the idea of having the character in the middle and the money flying around behind him this is to represent the other side of the film. This posters is linked the first one as you can perhaps recognise the second character behind the main character in the first poster. The reason for the money behind is to create the idea that the second character is more richer and successful that the one from the first poster. • For my final poster the one with the most writing effects lighting cuts ect. I have made the poster using the Paper Cut Out effect I however did read an article online of how to make it https://www.domestika.org/en/blog/3900-how-to-make-a-paper-cut-out-effect-in-adobe-photoshop this was helpful to achieve the effect. • What's this poster aiming to do? What I'm aiming to achieve with this poster is creating a and finalising the actual outcome of the film finally telling the audience the final story of the film without leeking to much information just showing that both characters have 2 different backgrounds and that everything switches.
  • 25. Manipulating the images • In here you can see that im changing the • Images lighting however too dark didn’t suit because • When its too dark its looks like a horror film This isn’t what I want so the outcome is different.
  • 26. This is the cut effect one here you can see that I haven’t yet added the text however this are all the images I have used for the actual print magazine.
  • 27. Why is print ad good for my film • I think print ad will be good for my film because I think it will be good if audience perhaps revisit that ad more that ones perhaps that advert gives people a bit of understanding of how the story is going to for itself around the film. People might want to revisit the advert if they want to watch the film again. Because if it was a digital or a tv advert it wasn’t going to stay around on the telly for a long time.
