2. Verbs
★ Verbs are words that describe actions or states of
being.
★ Examples- listen, think, feel, go, walk, run, jump, speak,
talk, learn, teach, take, look, watch, get, become, like,
get and so on.
I watch T.V. every night.
She walks every morning for exercise.
The students learn from the teacher.
3. Present Tense
★ Present tense is a verb form that is used to describe actions
that are factual or habitual or things that occur in the
present, but are not necessarily happening right now.
★ Present tense is used to describe things we do every day or
very often.
He takes a shower everyday.
She walks her dog every evening.
They go to class Monday through Friday.
4. Present Progressive Tense
★ Present progressive verbs are used to describe actions that are
happening right now.
★ To form present progressive tense you put the verb “to be” in
present tense in front of the verb. The verb also gets the -ing
ending.
I am talking to you right now.
You are listening to me.
She is teaching the students.
The students are learning about verb tenses.
5. Present Progressive Tense
★ Present progressive is also used to talk about what will
happen in the future, especially when it comes to the
idea of a plan or movement from one place to another.
He is driving to the city later tonight.
They are moving to the coast this summer.
I am going to the movies this weekend.
