2. Platform Document
• The LeadMN Platform Document guides our decision
making. It outlines broadly what we support and what we
oppose as an association.
• Every year, this document is reviewed and revised.
• This document is ESSENTIAL to the association, and YOU
are getting the opportunity to change it and make it stronger.

3. Revision Process Part 1
• The recommended changes start internally by the Cabinet
with consultation from staff and other students.
• At the September Conference recommendations are brought
to Platform Committee for approval. The Platform Committee
can add, remove, or change recommendations.

4. Revision Process Part 2
• At the October General Assembly, the General Assembly
can add, remove, or make amendments to Platform
Document.
• Any NEW Platform Document recommendations must
have been made 12 hours prior to the General
Assembly meeting. (9:30pm last night)
• The General Assembly can still remove or make
amendments to any of the recommendations approved
by the Platform Committee, or that met the 12 hour rule.

5. During the General Assembly
• Before we start:
• If you submitted an amendment in accordance with the
12 hour rule, please see Sami at the parli table to get
your motion slip.
• You must approach a microphone to introduce these
amendments, they will not be introduced by the chair.

6. During the General Assembly
• If you intend to make a motion during GA that would remove
or amend a Platform Document recommendation, you must
approach the parli table to have it put in writing.
• Sami and Patrick will be at the table to help.
• Once you have the motion in writing you may propose it at
the appropriate time.
• Approval of amendments requires a simple majority to pass.

7. During the General Assembly
• If you would like to speak on a motion you must approach
the appropriate microphone.
• Yield to Redundancy
• Try to avoid amendments to amendments (to amendments)
• In order to pass the entire Platform recommendations
document, an individual must make a motion to approve the
entire document as amended.
• Ratification of the Platform Document requires a 2/3 majority
of all votes cast at the GA.
