1. Manchu (Qing Dynasty) China
• The last imperial dynasty of China which was overthrown by
revolutionaries
2. Silver (Single) Whip System
• All land taxes in China must be paid in silver. This reform monetized
the Chinese tax system.
3. Tokugawa Bakufu System
• A feudal regime of Japan established by Tokugawa Ieyasu. This period
is known as the Edo period and gets its name from the capital city,
Edo, which now is called Tokyo.
4. Zheng He (Ming, China)
• An imperial eunuch and Muslim, entrusted by the Ming Emperor
Yongle with a series of state voyages that took his gigantic ships
through the Indian Ocean, from Southeast Asia to Africa.
5. Edo Period (Tokugawa Period)
• Marked by a reversal in attitudes toward Western influence in Japan.
Christians were persecuted, foreigners were prohibited to visit Japan,
time when Japan became increasingly secluded.
