AUDIENCE RESEARCH
SUMMARY

KEY DEMOGRAPHIC
INFORMATION
The romantic comedy genre is a collaboration of two
very popular genres, because of these we are able to
target a wide range of audiences. We are able to
target a male audience due to the comedy aspect of
the film, we are able to do this as comedy's attract a
larger male audience. Alongside this we are also able
to attract a large female audience as women are the
main audience of romantic films. I have also found
out through primary research that an audience is
more likely to watch a film if it includes actors and
actresses of a similar age. In our trailer we will be
including actors and actresses who are teenagers
meaning we are likely to be targeting teens.
THE PSYCHOGRAPHICS OF
MY AUDIENCE
From the research that I have conducted I have found out
that my target audience enjoy watching films with actors
and actresses their age. We have also found out that they
enjoy listening to music and socialising with friends.
To catch the attention of our audience we will be using
actors who are younger and more like our target audience.
There is no specific class or region of people who we are
trying to target in particular.

IN OUR CHOSEN PRODUCT)
Likes:
From my audience research I've found that a lot f our male audiences
liked the comedy
side of our genre, they also prefer films which have a number of
comedic parts.
Dislikes:
Some of my interviewees mentioned that they disliked our film posters,
the reason for them
not liking these posters, this was because they didn’t get the comedy
aspect from the
poster, meaning it was misleading. A clear example of this is the poster
from ‘27 dresses’.

HOW WILL YOU USE THIS
INFORMATION
We will keep all the information which we have
researched in mind when we produce our film trailer.
By knowing what our audiences like and dislike we
able to produce a trailer which reflects this. I have
also researched into ancillary products and by doing
this I will know have a better understanding for when
I create my film poster and magazine front cover.
From research I now have a clearer vision of how I will
produce a film trailer and more importantly make it
successful.
