Inspected multiple NJDOT bridge cleaning and painting projects: Interstate Bridge Painting Contract Route I-280-
Contract 1 and 3; RteI-80-Contract 2; Route 1&9 Truck over Passaic and Hackensack Rivers, Essex County and
Hudson county. Brooklyn Bridge . Brooklyn New York.
These bridge painting projects involves the removal of existing old lead based paint and repainting with a Northeast
Protective Coating Committee (NEPCOAT) approved system. The project incorporates traffic control on a high
speed highway, staging, and environmental (Lead Abatement) constrains unique to repainting on major high urban
bridges. The construction service contract involves the management of four separate painting contracts with three
independent painting contractors.Extensive coordination is done on a daily basis with each paint contractor,
including coordination with othertrades working on the highways.Communication and coordination with local
municipalities are addressed forstructures that span local streets.Contractor’s Liberty-Alpha Painting and ANKA
Painting.
Performed Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT):
Reviewed & verified AUT systemverification documents and inspection personalqualifications.
Verified all documentation to execute the work such as approved AUT procedures.
Checked the AUT Calibrations (Cal. IN & Cal. OUT) as per the procedures.
