1. Dear employer: I am applying for the Project Manager position for the company that you are
representing in the firm belief that I possess the right combination of attitude, skills and
capabilities not only to fit in, but to thrive in a results-driven environment. Here are some of
the reasons why.
Overall well-rounded business knowledge: As a long term business owner, I am exposed to all
facets of business practice, and am therefore able to perceive any given situation from a wider
perspective. My goal is not just completing a sale, but creating a satisfied client who returns
with more business.
Ability to manage diverse teams: My experience involves ongoing exposure to and ability to
work with a wide spectrum of personalities, from low-end manual workers, through middle
managers, to outside technical consultants, including representatives of governmental
agencies, vendors and sub-contractors of all types, and a variety of end users. Through that
exposure, I have developed the skill of building effective, cross-disciplinary teams using a
horizontal organizational approach that promotes agility by being constantly focused on the
end user.
Expertise in engineering and construction industries: I have over a decade’s experience in
these industries, and understand the business from a holistic perspective: premeditated
product development, selective prospecting, engaging clients, and post-sale follow through
(including tech support). Engineering background provides a strong emphasis on compiling
and utilizing real market data to detect trends, while creating a business solidly based in
industry realities.
Strong sales ability: As an entrepreneur, I have developed a closing-sale attitude at all times
that is deeply ingrained in all of my business endeavors. I know how to uniquely engage with
a prospect, according to the particular stage of the selling process and prospect’s personality
type.
Collaborative and flexible approach: Ability to enjoy new challenges, while developing new
relationships using a non-confrontational approach.
“People” person: I have developed my innate ability to relate easily with others, and have the
capacity to rapidly engage with prospects and partners at a deeper level. This trait promotes
diversity, and nurtures a problem-solving atmosphere while enhancing meaningful
relationships, not by avoiding conflict but rather by utilizing it as a learning tool for mutual
benefit.
Language ability: My well-developed functional and technical skills are easily presented
through good control, both verbal and written, of two languages (English & Spanish).
Efficient and effective: Equilibrated time management capabilities, with constant focus on
being efficient while being truly effective (focusing on the right tasks).
Yours truly,
Camilo J. Mejia
