1. Radio Advert Analysis 2
I then listened to a Wonga radio commercial, the style of this radio advert was
musical it used a catchy jingle and the name of the company repeated over and
over to make it stick in the audience’s head. The overall message of the advert
was to take out a loan with Wonga because of how ‘simple’ it is. They make a
big deal out of it being really easy and simple to do and the main tagline of the
advert is ‘Straight taking money’. I think they do this and reinforce it so much
because they want people who are very vulnerable to see this as the easy way
out because of how simple it is.
The voices used were a woman singing the name of the company over and
over (34 times), this is used to make it stick in your head and so you remember
the name of the company so if you ever need the product that’s the first place
you think of.
They do tell you where to go to contact them or buy the product at wonga.com
and the amount of times they say Wonga there’s no way you’re going to forget
the website so they use it so if you ever need a loan you’d go there. The music
was purposely made catchy also with most of the lyrics just being the company
so the audience remember the product. The main purpose of the advert is
promotional and to increase sales.
Overall the advert I think was a success because it does get the company’s
name and song stuck in your head and advertises the product well and I can
see how it would increase sales for their company.
