2. We gave our storyboard to 4 people who’s age fit into
our target market, we asked them to read through it to
see what response we would get. We didn’t talk them
through it, we just let them get on with it. If they asked
a question about it we tried to give the most basic
answer possible to keep their opinion based on the
storyboard and not what we were telling them. Once
they had read through it we asked them if they had any
comments on it.
How we got responses
3. Nathan, 17 Year old student, Enjoys Pop music, Favourite
artist from the Pop genre is Justin Beiber.
The first respondent, Nathan, said that ‘there is a great
range of shots throughout the storyboard and that if our
product is shot the way we have planned, it has a good
chance of working out well.’ He added that he ‘enjoyed our
story outline’, he said that ‘there is a clear narrative from
start to finish which is intriguing and is sure to catch the
attention of every viewer.’
The 1st Response
4. Daniel, 16 Year old student, Enjoys Indie as well as
Pop, Favourite artist from the Pop genre is Taylor
Swift.
The second respondent said that he felt we needed
more of a variety of characters in our product, he felt
that the addition of another character would improve
the product by ‘adding another dimension to it’
The 2nd Response
5. Sam, 14 Year old student, Enjoys rap music, studies
media, Favourite artist is Eminem.
The youngest responder, who is 14, said that our
product was ‘simple and easy to understand’; he said
he ‘didn’t know whether that was great of a
hindrance though and felt it might be missing
something key.’
The 3rd Response
6. Craig, 17 Year old student, Enjoys Pop music,
Favourite artist from the Pop genre is Katy Perry.
Craig, our final responder said that he ‘enjoyed our
storyboard from start to finish’ he continued by
saying ‘it has the perfect blend of shots’ and he felt
we ‘perfected the timings of each shot’
The 4th Response
7. This feedback was helpful in many ways and will allow us to
improve our storyboard and therefore our product. We will
consider adding in an extra character like the 2nd respondent,
Daniel suggested we should. We will also consider the addition
of another twist in the story or something along those lines to
make our story more complex like Sam, the 3rd respondent
suggested, although we like the simplicity of our storyboard, we
feel that is what makes it as good as it is.
What can we learn?
