q Consequences follow behaviour
q Consequences may be positive or negative
Positive consequences are delivered to:
1. Provide immediate feedback that behaviour is acceptable or desired
2. Increase likelihood behaviour will BE repeated, i.e., reinforced.
Negative consequences are delivered to:
1. Provide immediate feedback that behaviour is unacceptable
2. Increase likelihood behaviour will NOT BE repeated, i.e. punished.
