This document provides location details for filming a video. It describes 7 potential filming locations:
1) A hilltop overlooking area that would be good for establishing shots and has easy access.
2) An ordinary street with a bus stop that offers coverage while being accessible and not too busy.
3) A house close to a secluded lake area that offers a transition between urban and rural settings and is available to use.
4) A dark room that allows for control of lighting and is near the editing location.
5) A dark alley that feels trapped and has distance for viewing a violent scene.
6) A character's house near the secluded lake area that shows an urban neighborhood

Location Details relating to video
1) Top of hill view This location is by the hill I will be
using for the opening shots and shot
title in the location column. I have
chosen this area as it has an
overlooking hill and would be a good
place to useto show the character in
the scenepondering and thinking
about his life. But also for the reason
that it is easily accessiblefor both me
and the actor playing the main role
which will be used on film at this
location.
2) Along the street I will be using this location as it shows
an ordinary street with a bus stop
with a side walk. Although it is open
so may causesome suspicion when
filming it is ideal as again it is easily
accessible and isn’t necessarily a busy
area but has good coverageas it is an
open street without too many
obstructions.
2. 3) in the house The house is usefulas it is close to
the secluded area at Poulner lakes
within walking distance. This
transition between urban and ruralis
ideal as it offers a shortvisual
transition that is also relatively
realistic within the time frames. Also
it belongs to a friend who is acting in
my video so will be ideal in terms of
availability as that person is often
available and has a free house.
3. 4)dark room The dark room is excellent for the
more conceptual scenes as it is a
completely clear roomwith little light
penetration allowing me to control
light levels accordingly to the scene
or emotional status of the character.
But also as it is within the schoolI go
to means that it is also close to the
area that I use to edit my video
meaning I can fine tune the footage if
it doesn’twork how I planned. This
also reduces the time needed to get
to locations meaning that I can use
more time gathering footage or
editing my video.
4. Urban area- shop The shop is near the street scene so I
can film two scene in short
succession which again saves time.
But also the shop is quite a generic
and stereotypic in terms of its urban
town look and feel so would be
appropriateto representthe class
and type of person I aim to represent.
As the story is conceptual but also
follows a narrativewhich in my
opinion requires some sortof
character profile to be effective.
Urban area back ally This is appropriatefor the drug deal
scene as it has a dark vibe to it
especially at night with the graffiti on
the walls over the art presenting it as
run down but also has a
claustrophobic feel to it. This is
because it is a long alley and there
are only two ways to escape meaning
it’s easy to be trapped. This is
relevant presenting the drug
transaction as tense and dark. Again
its location is useful as it is within a
mile of the school I go to so can be
accessed by foot if a car is
unavailable. Allowing my production
schedule to cover multiple locations.
5. 5) dark alley/secluded urban area This alley is usefulas it has an open
area to have multiple people in yet
distance fromthe character who
views the violence. Yet it is concealed
out of the view of many people. It
also only has two exits which lead
into side alleys which havebarriers to
prevent moving vehicles in and out so
the only way to escapeis by foot. This
is effective as it make the scene feel
quite trapped but also makes the
character viewing seem vulnerable.
6) Characters house This is used in the scene wherethe
second character Jonah plays has an
argument and leaves. Itis usefulto
the reasons I havealready given in
terms of relation to the secluded are
(Poulner lakes) meaning easy access.
But it also shows multiple houses to
present and urban area and maintain
a more urban audience and sphereof
influence.
6. 7)secluded area (Poulner lakes)s This is ideal for the heroin scene as it
is completely secluded and has a
forestarea by the lake as shown
which allows for interesting visual
effects to be used in the ‘trip’ scene.
Alongsidethe fact it is easily
accessible as it is a public area and
nearby.
