AdvoCare, Inc. Oct 2003 - June 2005
Manager Business Intelligence & Web Development
- Managed the requirements and detail design phase of an Oracle data warehouse implementation. This phase included
the capture of requirements of three business units and the logical model architecture. The goal of this phase was to
finalize the designs and estimate the build of the ODS and multi-subject area data warehouse. Acting as a Business
Analyst I documented over 200 business scenarios. Acting as OLAP Developer creating 6 custom BusinessObjects
Universes, 140 complex full and thin client “canned” reports and creation of 4 Broadcast Agents spanning 6 reporting
domains. In addition I provided BusinessObjects training for 7 key personnel targeted as “Power Users”. 4 interfaces
are currently planned (ETL) to legacy environments. I Evaluated 3 ETL vendors while keeping PL/SQL developers as
an option.
- Project Manager for the in-house development of a web-based application designed to manage Advocare's online Store
and Membership Application. The project was delivered on time and on budget in an aggres sive 90-day time constraint.
The application is currently used to manage the complex process of ordering and maintaining highly tailored member
hierarchies.

- Technology used: J2EE-compliant three-tier architecture using JDeveloper 10g, Oracle 10g Application Server OC4J
containers. This was a J2EE solution using Struts and JSP. Use Case and Object Design activities were accomplished
with UML. Source code managed with Visual Source Safe (VSS).

EDS Healthcare Decision Support
- Provide Project Management of theDataWarehouse project for Blue Cross/BlueShield of Arizona. Thedatawarehouse project
was needed to provide analytical access to data from thedesktop via BusinessObjects full client. The data is stored in the data
warehouse in such a way as to integrate the different data and provide a more comprehensive picture of BCBSAZ lines of
business.
- Provide Project Management of the Operational Data Store project that mirrors BCBSAZ data into an ad-hoc reporting
environment and provide access to the data through BusinessObjects product suite.
- Hands on development with the design of all 7 universes, 4 repositories, full client reports and Document Agent Server
deployment.
- Developed technical test plans and test cases to standardize and maximize all verification processes provided by my team.
- Work closely with division director on the development of resource allocation and projections, also on project budget
preparation. Developed strategies to more effectively utilize local and remote staff resources to offer a more cost effective
bottom line.
- Provide Management of two Business Analysts and six Technical Programmers for a team total of eight staff
members.
