Poster analysis for the bourne supremacy
1. Poster analysis for The Bourne Supremacy
The background for the poster is a mixture
of black and blue, with blue being the more
dominant and therefore allowing for a very
dark and mysterious background suggesting
that the movie will contain action and also
will be driven by a plot to find out something
during the film.
The character on the poster is placed in
the middle and only half of his face is
shown due to the way the shadows
were done. This also seems to suggest
to the audience that the character isn’t
very simple and there is much more to
him. He is also holding a hand gun as a
weapon this furthermore adds to my
point above that the film will have
elements of action. We can also see
two characters holding up guns to each
other in smaller scale to the character
on the poster in a scope making it seem
like that they’re being looked at by
somebody else.
The name of the main character is
shown with the in film name too.
There is also some information at the
bottom of the poster for instance,
bottom right showing that it’s a
Universal movie and the over 12
suggesting that the movie has content which isn’t for children ages under 12.
The tagline at the bottom just above the age
rating is very important. It is two short
sentences therefore they suggest quick
actions and happening. “They stole his
identity. Now he wants it back.” This seems
to indicate to me that the character is
seeking some sort of revenge on the people
that have commit some sort of theft to him.
Identity theft could be it, assuming from the
first sentence in the tag line. This is very
significant as it can draw in the audience and
make them much more interested as it
sounds very interesting and action full. Fans
of this would definitely enjoy the film.
