The tagline expresses the
genre asit is stating that
something to do with religion
is over and people usually
connect a pray with being
peaceful but in this tagline
they state that prayer is over.

The name of the two famous
actresses compliment the
genre of the film as they
both actresses from action
films so it gives the audience
the impression that this film
will have a lot of action in it.









The colour of the
background of this poster
is a very dark and
miserable shade of black
and grey representing the
fact that there is not
happiness in this movie
and connotes the horror
genre.



The colour red usually
represents action, conflict and
neglect, as it is splashed across
her face this gives us the
impression that she is being
abused or ready to kill.
Her mother’s red eye expresses
that the genre of this movie is a
horror as a person having a red
eye is represented as being evil.
In this poster the main image
expresses the genre of the film
(slasher horror) as you can see
that half of her face is her
mother (I know this because
of the trailer) with a red eye
and the other half is her face
with blood splashed on it.
The typography of the title is a
very large font with a scratch
going through the centre of it
and blood at the bottom of it
compliments the genre of the
film. This typography is also
easy for the audience to read.
On this poster we can see the
date when the film comes out
(October) this compliments the
genre of the film as it is being
released in the same month as
Halloween, which is supposed to
be the scariest time of the year
making people want to go see it
on that day.


The colour theme is black
, red and grey, these
colours are the main
colours that are connoted
with the horror genre









The low lighting and
the hat both disguise
the characters
identity, giving the
audience that urge to
find out who/what he
is .
The large MS image
captures the attention
of the audience as it is
the main focus of the
poster., portraying the
bad character in a
dark light.



The tagline of this poster
reveals to us that this film
will be scary as a ‘nightmar
is an unpleasant dream
giving us the impression th
this film is going to be
unpleasant
The release date of this
film was the 30th April
2010, this date is
significant because by the
time it is released onto a
DVD it will be around
October and people are
more likely to purchase it
during that month as it is
coming up to Halloween.

The film title is placed at th
bottom of the poster to
allow the audience to focus
on the main image. It
written in a specific
typography for the
audience to understand.
The fact that it is written in
red connotes the genre of
the film.
