Subject: Irregular Power Supply in our locality.
Dear Sir,
Through the column of your esteemed daily, I would like to draw the kind attention of the concerned authorities and
common masses towards the attention of the authorities to the serious problem of irregular power supply in our
locality.
Our locality has been facing frequent power cuts for the past two weeks. Electricity is of utmost importance
nowadays because many schools and other offices are still being conducted online. Due to the frequent power cuts,
childrenās study is being interrupted. The school children are going through a lot of troubles with online schooling
and the shortage of electricity is an added disadvantage. Sometimes, there is no power supply for the whole day. As a
result, the residents of the city have to face a lot of difficulty specially during summer months. Even when there is a
power supply, there is a lot of fluctuation in electricity due to which many electrical appliances get damaged. We
have collectively complained at the electricity office but they have not responded yet.
I sincerely hope my voice will be reached to the concerned authority and they will take action immediately to resolve
our issue as soon as possible.
Thanking you,

Subject: An appeal against rising tech addiction among the youth
Dear Sir,
With great admiration and belief in the columns of your newspaper, I seek to bring to your kind notice the
fast-growing menace of tech addiction and resultant health scares among the youth of our country.
Today, we are able to enjoy some of the most convenient gadgets to have ever existed, which offer far more
information and sources of entertainment than any other. As a result, the upcoming generation has been becoming
increasingly information-heavy. The number of hours an average person spends in gaining new information,
whether wanted or unwanted, is fast increasing, with a screen in front of our eyes showing us new wonders every
minute. And on top of that, the wonders are as per choice and preferences. All this is really hampering overall
development of this generation. Once they get addicted, it is not as easy as we think to get them away from the
addiction, Actually, the government should take some strict action to ban some sites that make our children prone to
sit in front of their gadget and spend hours and hours instead of focussing towards their studies and other physical
activities. This finally leads obesity in children and invites multiple health issues. Not only children but even adults
these days are the victims of such problems. This also makes one quite irresponsible as people are not able to take
full responsibility of their daily chores since they have no time for it. I, therefore request the authority concerned to
look after the matter seriously and find some urgent solution.
Through your reliable and trusted media coverage, I would like to request you to highlight the above-mentioned
concerns for the benefit of the people.
Thank you.
Yours Sincerely,
Ganesh Basnet

Dear Sir,
Through the esteemed column of your widely circulated and popular daily, I would like to draw the attention of
the public as well as the concerned authorities to the problem of air pollution in Kathmandu.
Air pollution has been a big concern for those who live in Kathmandu Valley, the capital city of the country. The
valley has been facing the worse situation of ambient air every second. Citizens are unable to exercise their right
to live in clean and healthy environment. Masks and spare clothes in their bags are the essential items people
should manage before they leave their home. The authorities completely fail in their responsibility to the cityās
air pollution. According to, Population Index 2016, Kathmandu is one of the most polluted cities in the world.
There are several reasons for air pollution in the valley. Vehicular emission is the main source for air pollution.
The rapid increment of vehicles in Kathmandu is unbelievable. These vehicles uniformly produce CO2, known
as the principal air pollutant. Expansion of roads is another cause for air pollution in the valley. Besides them,
unmanaged urbanization resulted due to Kathmandu-centric development activities and migration, unmanaged
solid disposal and industries are the unquestionable sources of air pollution. The air pollution has a direct effect
on human health. High exposure in air pollution may cause chronic bronchitis, lung cancer, asthma and other
fatal respiratory problems. Particulate matter is the main problem of the valley which not only affects the health
but also tourism industry. Due to the poor health, human productivity is also loss. The air pollution has a direct

ultimately affect the economic system of individual as well as of state.
In order to improve the quality of air, the country needs a clean air action plan, improved public transportation,
non-motorized transport, an effective waste mechanism and stringent emission and fuel quality standards.

Dear Sir,
I shall be obliged to you if my letter finds a little space in the columns of your esteemed daily newspaper. I would like
to draw the attention of the authorities concerned for taking apt actions against the nuisance created by loudspeakers,
power generators and other machines in the factories.
Janakpur is a place of hypnotic beauty of nature, peace and cultural heritages. It has its unique historical and religious
significance. All the people are peace-loving. It was the place where peace and tranquillity existed but it has been
broken by the continuous sound of loudspeakers, generators and machines in the factories.
Many houses are using loudspeakers. It causes noise pollution. We can hear vulgar songs. Generators have been used
for various purposes. They cause very sharp noise. Our locality has to face lots of problems due to all these nuisances.
Similarly, some small factories have been established in the residential areas. The machines in the factories produce
noise pollution. The nuisance of them has especially victimized the students, children and old people. It is a great
matter of concern.
There are some solutions to this problem. Loudspeakers are unnecessary. Continuous use of them should be banned.
Instead of power generators, electricity should be used. Factories should be shifted to a separate area and should be
isolated. If the authorities concerned apply these measures, this problem can be easily solved.
Through your reliable and trusted media coverage, I would like to request you to highlight the above-mentioned
concerns for the benefit of the people.
Thank you.
Yours Sincerely,
