10. • Improved PSP/OP Search: On Dec. 18th, they
released a more user-friendly and powerful Post-
Secondary and Occupation Planner, including new
Smart Filters to improve the search experience.

11. Work Experience/RAP
• A number of first semester students (you know
who you are) did not hand in paperwork. Failure to
get this paperwork into Ms Wegner could
jeopardize graduation plans.
• Second semester students, please get your job
description and contract from your employer ASAP.
You are not officially in work experience until those
documents are returned and signed by Ms Wegner
12. • Barrhead Elementary School is looking for students who
would like to work with grade 1 and some of the other
grades
• Their office could also use a work experience student as well
as someone who would like to create bulletin boards
• If you don’t want to do work experience, consider
volunteering your time.

13. • Reminder your testing forms are due February 10 if
you want to test in March. Deadline has been
changed to February 17!
• See Ms Wegner if you lost your form and need
another one.
14. • It is never to soon to start planning for the summer
• RDC’s School of Continuing Education has released
its Summer Arts School calendar.
• July 4 – 29 at Red Deer College
• See Ms Wegner if you are interested in attending
any of the courses.
15. • Ms Wegner has a 25 page document detailing a
variety of scholarships for which students in the
province of Alberta can apply.
• See her if you are interested in this document. She
can share it with you.
• Work is underway to make it available on the
school website as a shared link.
16. • The Rep from King’s will be here February 18.
• She is setting up a booth at lunch, will be available
for private interviews block 3 and will be doing an
information session during flex.
• Sign up will be available as we get closer to that
date.
17. • Open House - Drop in to tour the campus, chat
with faculty and staff, and apply for free!
March 5 @10 am - 2 pm
• King's View Friday - Spend the day on campus,
learn about programs, admission, financial aid and
student life. Sit in on a class and even go on a tour.
And we will be offering free applications! See Ms
Wegner on how to register.

18. Info Session Weeks
From March 14 to 19 prospective students can attend
any one of our free information sessions. Full details on
information sessions on offer during Info Session Week
and throughout the year are available at
MacEwan.ca/InfoSessions.
Programs eligible for early admission are identified on
the website and will also be identified at their sessions.
Prospective students are encouraged to submit their
application to be assessed for early admission during
Info Session Week if they have not done so already.
19. Application Deadline: March 1st
• March 1, 2016 is the deadline to apply for direct-entry
undergraduate programs for Fall 2016 admission.
Reg 101 Workshops
• Registration 101 Workshops are in March/April 2016!
• Students will have an opportunity to learn how to
navigate the Bear Tracks system for the purpose of
course registration, build a first-year schedule, and ask
UAlberta staff questions.
20. 2016 Online Chat Dates
• high school students can log on and ask any
questions they may have about the University
of Alberta. 2016 upcoming dates are
• March 2
• April 6
• May 4
• June 1
• All of the sessions will be held from 7 to 9pm
MST.
21. Program Change Process
• Applicants are able to change the program choices on their application,
even after they have submitted it. Students wishing to change their
program choices are required to fill out the Admission Application
Program Change Form, then return it to them via the online contact
form or by dropping it off at Student Connect.
• If a student submits their program change request after the application
deadline has passed (March 1st), they can only switch the priority of
their two program choices; they cannot add a new program choice.
• Please note that only one program change request per application is
accepted.

22. Updating New Grades
• Students that have applied to the University of Alberta but have not yet
received an admission offer will be able to update your new grades in
early February! Students will receive an email once this online system is
live, which will also outline the process of updating these grades.
• Applicants that have not yet received an offer will be able to self-record
new final Grade 12 marks as they become available in February. Update
these grades online as soon as they become available in February so
that the U of A can process your application and provide eligible
students with an admission offer!
• Interim transcripts will not need to be sent to the University of Alberta,
as the self-recorded grades will be used to assess students for
admission. As part of the conditions to retain an admission offer, the U
of A will request final official transcripts on your behalf so that your
marks can be verified.
