communication is a field of study that looks at how people
from differing cultural backgrounds communicate, in similar
and different ways among themselves, and how they
endeavour to communicate across cultures. Intercultural
communication is a related field of study.
Cross-cultural communication in an organization deals
with understanding different business customs, beliefs and
communication strategies. Language differences, high-
context vs. low-context cultures, nonverbal differences and
power distance are major factors that can affect cross-
cultural communication.
