Summary
Over the past forty three years I have gained design engineering, manufacturing, project
management and business management experience in the manufacturing and sales fields.
My career focus has been: Companies and Facilities establishment and managing same,
designing of special purpose machinery and equipment for manufacturing, building of the
machinery and installing the same as turnkey projects, tool and die design/ building and
running production of stampings specializing in deep drawn parts, precision sheet metal
fabrication, plant and manufacturing business management of up to 63 employees with
specific responsibility for P/L, Sales, QA, facilities erection and plant layout, application of
SPC, JIT and TQM, mentoring/ teaching engineers and manufacturing personnel,
overseeing in-plant tool room and manufacturing apprenticeship program for twelve
years.
Although I thrive best in a manufacturing environment, I enjoy machinery and equipment
sales. My experience combined with my enjoying the selling process, using my language
skills have been useful in negotiating, recruiting and making productive presentations to
clients.

Responsible for establishing a Combustion Equipment Design and
Fabrication company from ground up. Joint venture partner
communication; Design of facility; Land selection; Company legalization
and registration in Saudi Arabia; Fabrication equipment selection and

11/2001 –8/2005 I worked as a Freelance Business, Manufacturing and Engineering
consultant to Companies in Armenia and the UNDP/ Yerevan Office.
4/2003 – 7/2004 ARQELL CJSC Village of Argel, Kotayk Region, Armenia
Consultant contract - Executive Director
This was an abandoned lock manufacturing plant left over from the Soviet
era in dilapidated condition without any functioning infrastructure. The
contract was to manage the remodeling, renovating, rebuilding the place
and getting it ready for occupancy with the necessary equipment and
personnel for the manufacturing of roller dies and converting machinery.
I had total responsibility of refurbishing a “five buildings” plant
with total under roof area of 22,000 sq. meters (235,00 sq. ft.) on
5.5 Hectares (13.5 acres) in the village of Arqell, Republic of
Armenia.
Managed and supervised all construction work, the erection of a
substation and securing the plant’s electrical power supply, the
natural gas supply, space heating and ventilation system, drinking
and irrigation water supply.
Direct involvement in the design and erection of the electrical
power distribution system inside the buildings.
Purchase of manufacturing equipment and refurbishing of the
manufacturing equipment. Plant layout and installation of the
production equipment, powering up and validating machine
capability.
Wrote the company’s Employee Handbook, developed Human
Resources policies, recruited Personnel (Administrative,
Engineering and Labor), established the Organizational Chart of
the company, wrote Job Descriptions for each position, established
pay scale for each position.
Did all engineering work and instructed the technical staff in
engineering and manufacturing processes and Total Quality
Control approach to manufacturing.

11/2001- 4/2003 GIG Computers, Yerevan, Armenia
Consultant contract -VP Operations capacity
This was a computer and peripheral equipment refurbishment and sales
company, with its outlets in Yerevan, Armenia, operating under the name
“GIG Computers”.
I was responsible for products sourcing from the US, negotiating
prices and terms and providing technical support for the
refurbishing department.

9/1980 – 8/2000 Advanced Metal Technology dba FORMTECH, Chatsworth,
California - USA
VAK Industries, Inc. Moriarty, New Mexico - USA
President
1980 Started business, Advanced Metal Technology Inc. with $25,000 personal
savings, Chatsworth, California. The business was an engineering firm,
designing and building dies, gages and automated production
equipment for lock companies, national and international.
1984 Entered the metal stampings market, specializing in deep drawn parts,
manufactured in single, progressive and transfer dies. Expertise was
acquired in designing and building grade “A” tool steel and carbide
dies. Press capacities from 15 tons to 100 tons. Designed and developed
highly automated one-piece door knob manufacturing lines, which
consisted of several special-design machines and presses; all connected
to run at sixty strokes per minute, with complete doorknob style
changeover capability in 12 minutes. This technology was
interdisciplinary in nature. Equipment built by VAK is still running
production in its customers’ plants.
1986 Introduction of TQC per Dr. Ishikawa. Use of SPC extensively.
1989 Implementation of SMED and became JIT supplier of 23 complex
metal formed items to Schlage Lock Co. of San Francisco
1990 Business moved to Moriarty, New Mexico. Operating under the name
VAK Industries Inc. Peak employment reached 63 people in its newly
built 25,000-sq. ft. facility.
1996 Established precision sheet metal fabrication capabilities.
Specialized in manufacturing, very complex, gas delivery cabinets of sheet
metal for the electronic chip manufacturers in the Silicon Valley and
Arizona. Put to practice Kaizan for quick changeover in
manufacturing and assembling of different model cabinets.
2000 Company was sold in August.

Started as Senior Design Engineer with total engineering and
manufacturing responsibilities in a plant producing seamless doorknobs
and lock trim of brass, bronze and stainless steel. Conceptual design,
project presentation, cost analysis, complete preparation of fabrication
drawings, supervising fabrication and development of all tooling and
special production equipment and presses. Research and development
in machine design and hydraulic forming of unique shapes starting with
sheet stock.
