SNAKE
• Denotation
It is a snake. It slithers through
grassy areas and devour their prey
by squeezing it inside their stomach
• Connotation
Can represent betrayal and/or
danger
FLAG
• Denotation
This is a flag. It is used for special
occasions and flies on a flag pole
• Connotation
It can represent patriotic status,
Royal family, British symbol, unity
and rebellion
GUN
• Denotation
It is a gun. This Is used in gangster
and western films as a prop
• Connotation
It represents rebellion, Danger, fear,
highlighting perhaps a death is about
to occur.
Colour
The colour of the
background suggests there
is light to one side and darkness
on the other to show the rift
between good and evil
Props
We can see there are swords
and cutlasses also a hook that is
shining bright to come off the
page.
There is a boat with a skull
and crossbones suggesting
pirates.
Costume
We see the clothes look like they
have/can be made out of
resources which shows perhaps
an urban place with no shops
and that they rely on the land.

sea in the background
and we see a fairy and
pirates which suggest
a fantasy genre and

  • 2. SNAKE • Denotation It is a snake. It slithers through grassy areas and devour their prey by squeezing it inside their stomach • Connotation Can represent betrayal and/or danger
  • 3. FLAG • Denotation This is a flag. It is used for special occasions and flies on a flag pole • Connotation It can represent patriotic status, Royal family, British symbol, unity and rebellion
  • 4. GUN • Denotation It is a gun. This Is used in gangster and western films as a prop • Connotation It represents rebellion, Danger, fear, highlighting perhaps a death is about to occur.
  • 5. Colour The colour of the background suggests there is light to one side and darkness on the other to show the rift between good and evil Props We can see there are swords and cutlasses also a hook that is shining bright to come off the page. There is a boat with a skull and crossbones suggesting pirates. Costume We see the clothes look like they have/can be made out of resources which shows perhaps an urban place with no shops and that they rely on the land. Location We can see there is a sea in the background and we see a fairy and pirates which suggest a fantasy genre and setting Actors/Framing We can see the 3 main characters are larger than the other which show they play a key role in the film Lighting The fairy dust lights up the page as it is surrounding the ship and the use of gold lights up the page better Peter Pan
