2. Forest.
We have chosen to locate our slasher film in a
forest. It is an isolated setting, perfect for our killer
to attack his victims as there is noone around to
hear the teens scream. Furthermore, it is a
convention of slashers to be set in a isolated area
especially somewhere surrounded by lots of trees.
The trees add to the fear as it creates plenty of
hiding spaces for the killer to lurk. They also make
the setting appear large and powerful, as if the trees
are swallowing up the teenagers.
In addition to this. woodlands at night are extremely
dark. The trees are able to block out a lot of the
available light sources from the moon. This adds to
the fright and fear of the unknown.

4. Lake;
We want to include a lake in our trailer. This is to
add to the fear of nature and the unknown of what is
lurking. It also adds to the reckless behavior of the
teens as they will be shot messing around by the
lake, highlighting their inattentive behavior.
The lake will also be effective in adding to the fear
factor as they will allow for a lot of reflections,
making the teens fear the lake as it could make
them believe something is there when it really isn’t.
