ABSTRACT
Over the past few decades, Digital Media and Internet Communication have become
gradually more important to Hyderabad schools. There are wide of research exists to
explore and study the use of Digital media and Internet Communication in the process of
learning and teaching in Elementary schools. This research examines and focuses on the
impact of Digital media and internet communication on teaching and learning on
Government secondary school students and teachers. The aim of the study is to analyze the
impact of Digital Media on teaching and learning on the Government secondary school
students and teacher. A descriptive study was conducted selecting 100 respondents by
sampling method from government secondary schools in district Hyderabad generally and
Hyderabad city area especially. Questionnaire was administered for data collection.
Findings of the study indicates that government secondary school students and teachers are
well aware about all the Digital Media and communication networking sites and have
access to them on the other hand teachers are very familiar with new technologies and also
utilize these new technologies to teach their students. Findings indicate that despite the
negative side of Digital Media and internet communication networking sites has a positive
impact upon academic performance of government secondary school students and
professional performances teacher.
Key words: Digital Media, Internet communication, Academic performance, Student
learning, Integration digital media.
Effect Of Digital Media Integration At The Elementary Level/1
1. Background of the research study
While the digital media and online or internet communication networking sites have the
equal key aspects. Most online networking sites help unfamiliar person connect with others
supported joint personal interests, educational, political, and economic views, or just leisure
activities. Some networking sites put up diverse viewers while others fascinate people
supported resemblances, like common culture, languages or racial, religious, or nationality.
Nevertheless, SNS have only mutual goal. It’s to draw in innovative ways to speak and
share information. Some elementary school teachers and students have habit of to visiting
different digital media communication sites that influencing their overall attitude;
academically, physically, and socially. Digital media and technology integration is effective
for the teachers and student, technology integrate change the classroom dynamics, develop
the student interest, encourage the student and teacher center learning.
A student main objective is that the academics, particularly at elementary school level for
the motivation that it's the phase of career building; hence, the need to require their studies
and reading on digital media and communication are much seriously can't be over
emphasized. Thus to generate good reading habit in the student and to seek positive
learning outcome, teacher need to go through beyond the curriculum. Now in this technical
and virtual era each and every aspect related to education is available on internet. There are
numerous of website, blogs and videos by which teachers can get guidance and then apply
it in effective methodology with the help of digital and online medium.
Effect Of Digital Media Integration In Science At The Elementary Level /2
Digital and Online medium connect the teachers with each other globally, with any
restriction of boundary. This interconnectivity make them enable to integrate educational
stuff and promote better understanding for teaching and learning practices. These practices
may help elementary teachers to teach their students with the help of modern methods of
teaching, on the other hand students get able to know and use new and modern technologies
by hand.
2. Statement of the Research Problem:
Meanwhile the advent of Digital Media in the 1990s, somehow it is presumed that the
academic routine and the performances of Elementary school’s students is facing neglect
and their attention has been diverse. In fact, their educational and intellectual sprit has been
hanging between Digital Media or SNS activities and their academic effort. It is also been
observed that students give more devotion to SNS than they are doing to their educations.
Therefore, this research is a kind of little effort to realize the probable impact of this Digital
Media on the students and teachers in relation to their academic performance. This research
also analyzes the utilization of Digital Media sites by elementary school teachers on their
lesson planning, or to engage their students in active learning participation through digital
media.
3. Purpose of the Study
The purpose of the study is to establish the positive impact of Digital Media and online
communication on secondary school students’ performance in Pakistan as an in
Government Secondary school of district Hyderabad city area.
The core purpose of the study is to understand how educationists can implement the
resources in secondary school classrooms and what measures should be adopted to entail
digital media forum for learning management
4. Research Objectives
 To explore the effects of Digital media integration on the learning of elementary
school students
 2. To analyze the use of various Digital media tools for the betterment of education.
Effect Of Digital Media Integration In Science At The Elementary Level /3
5. Research Questions:
The following research questions what perceptions do the teachers hold regarding the
integration of digital media tools in elementary education? The sub questions were:
1. What are the effects of Digital media integration on the learning of elementary
school students
2. What are the ways to use various Digital media tools for the betterment of
education?
6. Significance of the Study
The importance of the study is to analyze and understand how educationists and academic
students can implement the innovative resources in government elementary school
classrooms and what procedures should be implemented in order to require Digital Media
and online communication sites and forum for learning management.
The research will be of huge benefits to teachers, Students, Parents, Guardians and School
Management and as well as other Investors in the education of the school. Students and
teachers who want to acquire to achieve, acquire, manage, and want stability in their time
well so as to be great contributors to the advancement of the society.
7. Review of the literature:
The advancement of the new digital media strains a replacement educational system by
parents and educators. The parental intervention becomes a mode to realize the children's
involvements with Internet, chat, videogames, and social network.
On the other hand, numerous studies have examined impact of digital media social
networking on elementary school students. although, it's supposed that active learning from
reading books is better than passive learning, like watching television (Shabi and Udofia,
(2009, as cited in Agwu Particularly, some researchers have observed that technological
innovations are somehow the way to the decline within the reading habits of student like
digital media and social networking. according to Agwu and Kalu (2011), the misuse and
mishandling of digital media technologies is as result to students’ poor reading. They
discoursed that in the modern and innovative era of information and communication
technology, the younger generation has unconsciously and mechanically changed from
Effect Of Digital Media Integration In Science At The Elementary Level /4
reading to those digital media technologies. Agwu and Kalu also stressed the pupil of
present day living within the generation. According to Masood badri (2019) The research
on social networking and youngsters usually focuses on many aspects or Most empirical
studies addressed the relations between using social networking and academic performance
(Alwagait et al. , 2015, Hawi and Samaha, 2016). Some studies attempted to shed light on
the academic aspects of using social networking (Zhang et al., 2015, Mao, 2014). Many
studies focused on the negative things that will occur in children using social networking
(Maddena et al., 2016, Koutamanis et al., 2015, Li, 2017). Some studies attempted to focus
on the explanations why children use social networking (Samaha and Hawi, 2017), while
others studied the children’s attitudes toward social networking related to being connected
(Miller et al., 2015, Tomczyk and Kopecky, 2016). Some studies touched on the sensitive
role of the involvement of guardian in their children’s use of social networking (Lovea et
al., 2016). According to Muhammad Ammad-ud-din January 2014 This research study
extends during a similar direction and aims to predict the role of digital media within the
way forward for the goal of the study is to deal with the basic research question: How
digital media impact education? To answer this question, the study identifies signals to in
way forward for education and presents a case scenario predicting a typical day of the
fictional child Junior in class in the scope of the research question might be very broad;
however, this study focuses only on the first level of education.
Asare Donkoh.F.(2018) Mostly high school students of Ghana have access to digital media
sites using various devices having internet including IPad, mobile phones, laptops, tablets,
et a number of guardian and academic educationists have believe that digital media and
internet communication has negative impact on their children, especially on students. They
claim that digital media sites make students incompetent of creating independent and
important study and analysis of events and issues. Nonetheless this, another guardian,
parents, academic educationists, and students show appreciation with the positive impact of
digital media on teaching, learning and social The conclusions of this study show that
digital media and internet communication has positive impact on the tutorial and social
lifetime of Ghanaian senior high school students. Rida Ahmed (June 2016) the utilization
of digital media is now dominating the Pakistani society and has gained popularity within a
span of the utilization of Facebook since 2012 has increased up to 750 million users,
LinkedIn up to 100 million members, Twitter up to177 million tweets, and YouTube
approximately three billion Today’s students in colleges and schools are far more exposed
to multiple technologies, which include use of desktop computers, laptops, cellular devices,
Effect Of Digital Media Integration In Science At The Elementary Level /5
e-readers, tablets, and lots of more, which constantly keep it up engaging students in
networking, blogging, online content sharing, and even text messaging (Browning, Gerlitch
& Westermann,
7.1 Use of digital media integration
The use of digital media in education allows students to access more useful information,
communicate, find opportunity, or join learning groups. As time has passed differing types
of digital media, like laptops, video, and online research are incorporated into daily
education. New programs and classes are being added to curriculum annually.
7.2 Directed Teaching (Reception/Transmission)
Teachers and presenters nearly all depend upon a presentation tool while lecture the
audience. The foremost well know tools are PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Presentations
and Prezi. Other digital media which can be used during a presentation are YouTube
videos, images, and even cartoons. Sometimes the video you would like for instance your
talk doesn't yet exist, so you would like video-creating and editing tools, like PowToon.
You’ll also design a presentation bearing in mind that the slides are getting to be shared
more publicly with tools like SlideShare from LinkedIn. These tools also offer inspiration
to form your own slides.

create effective learning environment.
9. Conclusion
Digital media is now become the backbone in every aspect of life either its comes to
business, entertainment or in education. In education we can find digital media as whole.
As its provide consistency in teaching and learning practices. Overall digital media support
teaching methods with its core. As a researcher I find out and observe that digital media
could change the mode of education. As we all know that its an era which considered to be
globalized. This globalization is only due to the digitalization . the more you digitalized the
more you able to educate , teach and learn.
This study highlights the pros and cons of digital media effects in education. As over all
study conclude on that lack of digital media resources in school, its causes great lose of
learning. Teachers were unable to utilize new media tools in class room, students were
unable to related with STEM (science, technology, English, math’s) in a proper way. Also
they interact with others before and after the class .
10. Finding
The result of the study finds out that there is a significant difference in the performance
teachers and students in Government elementary school as a result of their use of digital
media. teachers don’t use digital media for academic purposes such as assignment, sharing
of ideas, discussing class work activities etc.
While conducting the interviews, it was very clear that the teachers were not using
digital media in their lesson plans and delivering lessons. some of the teachers had a real
feedback regarding digital media as well. The most commonly used digital media tools is,
WhatsApp, SlideShare (PPT), Google doc, YouTube and Pinterest. The teachers were of
the view that it had been important to spread awareness among parents’ classroom
management concerning digital media’s implementation in the classrooms. A majority of
the teachers were in favor of introducing digital media forums in their classrooms. Teachers
did not feel uncertain to share the benefits and unconstructive aspects of the digital media.

11. Recommendation
Education is a continuous development process and its should provide knowledge
according to the need of modern era.
Some recommendations are describe as givin below after analyzing this research:
 Government should provide funds for digital media resources
 Government should take initiatives to provide laptop, internet and other accessories
related with digital media to students. As students can enable to use digital media by
themselves
 Schools should made their budget with digital media resources
 Workshop should be arranged for teachers to make them enable to utilized digital
media properly.
 Computer and other laboratories should be established for better learning.
 Teachers should design their lesson plans in a way where they can use digital media
frequently.
 There should be a weekend class where students and teacher could engaged with
digital media collaboratively.
 The use of digital media should also be regularized in national curriculum.

  • 5. ABSTRACT Over the past few decades, Digital Media and Internet Communication have become gradually more important to Hyderabad schools. There are wide of research exists to explore and study the use of Digital media and Internet Communication in the process of learning and teaching in Elementary schools. This research examines and focuses on the impact of Digital media and internet communication on teaching and learning on Government secondary school students and teachers. The aim of the study is to analyze the impact of Digital Media on teaching and learning on the Government secondary school students and teacher. A descriptive study was conducted selecting 100 respondents by sampling method from government secondary schools in district Hyderabad generally and Hyderabad city area especially. Questionnaire was administered for data collection. Findings of the study indicates that government secondary school students and teachers are well aware about all the Digital Media and communication networking sites and have access to them on the other hand teachers are very familiar with new technologies and also utilize these new technologies to teach their students. Findings indicate that despite the negative side of Digital Media and internet communication networking sites has a positive impact upon academic performance of government secondary school students and professional performances teacher. Key words: Digital Media, Internet communication, Academic performance, Student learning, Integration digital media.
  • 6. Effect Of Digital Media Integration At The Elementary Level/1 1. Background of the research study While the digital media and online or internet communication networking sites have the equal key aspects. Most online networking sites help unfamiliar person connect with others supported joint personal interests, educational, political, and economic views, or just leisure activities. Some networking sites put up diverse viewers while others fascinate people supported resemblances, like common culture, languages or racial, religious, or nationality. Nevertheless, SNS have only mutual goal. It’s to draw in innovative ways to speak and share information. Some elementary school teachers and students have habit of to visiting different digital media communication sites that influencing their overall attitude; academically, physically, and socially. Digital media and technology integration is effective for the teachers and student, technology integrate change the classroom dynamics, develop the student interest, encourage the student and teacher center learning. A student main objective is that the academics, particularly at elementary school level for the motivation that it's the phase of career building; hence, the need to require their studies and reading on digital media and communication are much seriously can't be over emphasized. Thus to generate good reading habit in the student and to seek positive learning outcome, teacher need to go through beyond the curriculum. Now in this technical and virtual era each and every aspect related to education is available on internet. There are numerous of website, blogs and videos by which teachers can get guidance and then apply it in effective methodology with the help of digital and online medium.
  • 7. Effect Of Digital Media Integration In Science At The Elementary Level /2 Digital and Online medium connect the teachers with each other globally, with any restriction of boundary. This interconnectivity make them enable to integrate educational stuff and promote better understanding for teaching and learning practices. These practices may help elementary teachers to teach their students with the help of modern methods of teaching, on the other hand students get able to know and use new and modern technologies by hand. 2. Statement of the Research Problem: Meanwhile the advent of Digital Media in the 1990s, somehow it is presumed that the academic routine and the performances of Elementary school’s students is facing neglect and their attention has been diverse. In fact, their educational and intellectual sprit has been hanging between Digital Media or SNS activities and their academic effort. It is also been observed that students give more devotion to SNS than they are doing to their educations. Therefore, this research is a kind of little effort to realize the probable impact of this Digital Media on the students and teachers in relation to their academic performance. This research also analyzes the utilization of Digital Media sites by elementary school teachers on their lesson planning, or to engage their students in active learning participation through digital media. 3. Purpose of the Study The purpose of the study is to establish the positive impact of Digital Media and online communication on secondary school students’ performance in Pakistan as an in Government Secondary school of district Hyderabad city area. The core purpose of the study is to understand how educationists can implement the resources in secondary school classrooms and what measures should be adopted to entail digital media forum for learning management 4. Research Objectives  To explore the effects of Digital media integration on the learning of elementary school students  2. To analyze the use of various Digital media tools for the betterment of education.
  • 8. Effect Of Digital Media Integration In Science At The Elementary Level /3 5. Research Questions: The following research questions what perceptions do the teachers hold regarding the integration of digital media tools in elementary education? The sub questions were: 1. What are the effects of Digital media integration on the learning of elementary school students 2. What are the ways to use various Digital media tools for the betterment of education? 6. Significance of the Study The importance of the study is to analyze and understand how educationists and academic students can implement the innovative resources in government elementary school classrooms and what procedures should be implemented in order to require Digital Media and online communication sites and forum for learning management. The research will be of huge benefits to teachers, Students, Parents, Guardians and School Management and as well as other Investors in the education of the school. Students and teachers who want to acquire to achieve, acquire, manage, and want stability in their time well so as to be great contributors to the advancement of the society. 7. Review of the literature: The advancement of the new digital media strains a replacement educational system by parents and educators. The parental intervention becomes a mode to realize the children's involvements with Internet, chat, videogames, and social network. On the other hand, numerous studies have examined impact of digital media social networking on elementary school students. although, it's supposed that active learning from reading books is better than passive learning, like watching television (Shabi and Udofia, (2009, as cited in Agwu Particularly, some researchers have observed that technological innovations are somehow the way to the decline within the reading habits of student like digital media and social networking. according to Agwu and Kalu (2011), the misuse and mishandling of digital media technologies is as result to students’ poor reading. They discoursed that in the modern and innovative era of information and communication technology, the younger generation has unconsciously and mechanically changed from
  • 9. Effect Of Digital Media Integration In Science At The Elementary Level /4 reading to those digital media technologies. Agwu and Kalu also stressed the pupil of present day living within the generation. According to Masood badri (2019) The research on social networking and youngsters usually focuses on many aspects or Most empirical studies addressed the relations between using social networking and academic performance (Alwagait et al. , 2015, Hawi and Samaha, 2016). Some studies attempted to shed light on the academic aspects of using social networking (Zhang et al., 2015, Mao, 2014). Many studies focused on the negative things that will occur in children using social networking (Maddena et al., 2016, Koutamanis et al., 2015, Li, 2017). Some studies attempted to focus on the explanations why children use social networking (Samaha and Hawi, 2017), while others studied the children’s attitudes toward social networking related to being connected (Miller et al., 2015, Tomczyk and Kopecky, 2016). Some studies touched on the sensitive role of the involvement of guardian in their children’s use of social networking (Lovea et al., 2016). According to Muhammad Ammad-ud-din January 2014 This research study extends during a similar direction and aims to predict the role of digital media within the way forward for the goal of the study is to deal with the basic research question: How digital media impact education? To answer this question, the study identifies signals to in way forward for education and presents a case scenario predicting a typical day of the fictional child Junior in class in the scope of the research question might be very broad; however, this study focuses only on the first level of education. Asare Donkoh.F.(2018) Mostly high school students of Ghana have access to digital media sites using various devices having internet including IPad, mobile phones, laptops, tablets, et a number of guardian and academic educationists have believe that digital media and internet communication has negative impact on their children, especially on students. They claim that digital media sites make students incompetent of creating independent and important study and analysis of events and issues. Nonetheless this, another guardian, parents, academic educationists, and students show appreciation with the positive impact of digital media on teaching, learning and social The conclusions of this study show that digital media and internet communication has positive impact on the tutorial and social lifetime of Ghanaian senior high school students. Rida Ahmed (June 2016) the utilization of digital media is now dominating the Pakistani society and has gained popularity within a span of the utilization of Facebook since 2012 has increased up to 750 million users, LinkedIn up to 100 million members, Twitter up to177 million tweets, and YouTube approximately three billion Today’s students in colleges and schools are far more exposed to multiple technologies, which include use of desktop computers, laptops, cellular devices,
  • 10. Effect Of Digital Media Integration In Science At The Elementary Level /5 e-readers, tablets, and lots of more, which constantly keep it up engaging students in networking, blogging, online content sharing, and even text messaging (Browning, Gerlitch & Westermann, 7.1 Use of digital media integration The use of digital media in education allows students to access more useful information, communicate, find opportunity, or join learning groups. As time has passed differing types of digital media, like laptops, video, and online research are incorporated into daily education. New programs and classes are being added to curriculum annually. 7.2 Directed Teaching (Reception/Transmission) Teachers and presenters nearly all depend upon a presentation tool while lecture the audience. The foremost well know tools are PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Presentations and Prezi. Other digital media which can be used during a presentation are YouTube videos, images, and even cartoons. Sometimes the video you would like for instance your talk doesn't yet exist, so you would like video-creating and editing tools, like PowToon. You’ll also design a presentation bearing in mind that the slides are getting to be shared more publicly with tools like SlideShare from LinkedIn. These tools also offer inspiration to form your own slides. 8. Research Methodology: Qualitative Method This approach is the process of inquiry it helps to understand the problem of the research it is a method in which we collect our data through conversation. Research approach The researcher use Deductive approach in their research this approach means reasoning from the particular to the general 8.1 Research Design: The research design in this study is survey and interview research delivered of lesson and d.
