1. Job Roles
These are the job roles that we have allocated to each member of our group:
Camera operator: A camera operator is a person that films the production and are in
control of the recording of the footage and moving the camera in order to get different
angles and shots. We allocated this role to Katherine because she was more experienced
when it came to using the camera and she was better at it, which we established in AS. She
also has a steadier hand than the rest of our group which allowed us to get the right shots
that we needed.
Director: A director is a person that supervises the actors and other staff involved in the
production and tells them what they need to do. We allocated this role to Laura because we
felt she is the most confident out of us all which is good when it comes to getting the actors
in order and telling them what we needed them to do to in order to make our footage for
our music video the best it could be.
Costume designer: A costume designer is someone who designs costumes for the
production and is in control of getting the costumes to create the character and to balance
the scene with texture and colour. We allocated this role to Amy so because we felt that she
was best at getting everyone organised in what they needed to wear and what they needed
to look like in order to distinguish to the audience the time that is passing in our music
video.
Editor: The editor is in charge of editing the footage that the cameras operator has filmed
and they put this footage together and delete any of the unnecessary footage that has been
filmed to make the production look smooth. We decided that all three of us in our group are
going to get involved with the editing due to some of us being better in different areas.
Katherine is better with sorting out the sound to be in time with the footage, Laura is good
at putting the footage together in order to make our final piece and Amy is good with
putting filters, changing the lighting and adding different effects to the footage.
Lighting: This is a person that operates the lighting within the production in order to make
the lighting right for a particular scene in order to set the mood for the audience. We have
allocated this role to Katherine as she is also operating the camera so she can see whether
the lighting is correct or not on the camera and can change the lighting when it needs to be
changed.
